I'll text a girl to set up a date, then cut the conversation by telling her I'll text her closer to the date to figure a small detail out (i.e. usually a specific time as opposed to time of day). I usually leave a detail out so the text prior to the meet up seems more natural and less needy.

However, when I text them the day before the date in order to confirm if we're still on/to figure out that one detail, I get flaked on. They'll often say the day no longer works for them, or that they're unsure if they're free anymore (both could be real life schedule conflicts). Or some girls just ignore my confirmation text altogether.

Any idea what's happening here? Is it possible me asking if they're still free is putting myself in a weaker position and therefore making myself look unattractive?

I usually tell girls the time and the location of the meet up when I'm setting up dates, then closer to the date (1-2hr) I just text "Hey XX, See you soon ;)"
They probably flaked on you because u didn't confirm a specific time. It's probably inconvenient for her to wait for you to confirm the time, when she's got other plans too, so you just end up not being on her schedule.

Can you post examples?

Along with what Smith suggested you could be cutting the conversation off in an unnatural way, thats socially unsavy. I typically don't ever tell a girl I'm cutting conversation. I just don't respond.

If you think your texting is really good, it could also be you're not establishing rapport before the number close.

The usual template is us figuring out a day we're both free and whether they'll be traveling to my city or not (they usually live in the next town over). I usually leave the time out until it gets closer to the date so could that be an issue?

Unfortunately I don't have any examples cause I rarely keep text conversations that aren't ongoing right now.
