Girl's friend getting pissed at you?

Okay, so this girl I asked out awhile back, she said no. My fault, failed to come off as attractive or move fast enough. Anyway, due to having school with her, we ended up becoming friends afterwards(which is fine with me really. Better to be friends then have some awkward hate relationship).

Anyhow, recently we've been texting a little bit. Today, I initiated a conversation due to boredom. After a few texts back and forth, her friend (whom I'm not close with at all) sends me a text from an unknown number basically telling me to back off, and that I'm harassing this girl. I respond saying I'm not interested in dating this girl anymore, and that she should have no worries, just trying to be friends. The friend texts back saying she's not worried, but pissed and that I'm creeper/douchebag. I tell her just because I'm texting this girl doesn't mean I want in her pants or anything like that. She says just to stop being a douchebag.

Now, while I'm still attracted to this girl, I'm not like chasing or anything like that(I'd rather just be friends).

The girl texts me apologizing for her friend's behavior, and only to text her.

I know this isn't really a problem with trying to get a girl or anything, but I'd like to know what you guys think the reason behind this is? I mean, I don't think I've come off as being a creeper or douchebag, but I could be wrong.

Thoughts?

I don't know how old you are, but it sounds like normal middle/high school drama to me. She's either jealous, wants you, heard past history and thinks you're gonna hurt her (emotionally), or thinks that her friend is better than you in some way.

This actually happened to me with the first girl I ever dated (8th grade). Her friends kept trying to break us up. She was on dance team, so I know the girls thought that she was better than me. Also, she was spending more time with me and less time with them. And, this isn't even conjecture... she told me exactly what her friends said. I got sick of the drama, so I ended it... then we got back together... then I ended it again. Pretty typical of the age.

If you're both older, then that's pretty immature/tactless now, especially since she obviously wants to keep talking with you. The reasons are probably close to the same though. In the end, just ignore it, and it may turn her on to you as the "forbidden fruit"...

I just graduated Highschool over the weekend actually. I'm 18, she's 17, and the friend is 17.

I was planning on ignoring it, but it kinda pissed me off that she freaked out on me like. So I was curious what others thought.

She hates your guts. that's all. but there's a bigger problem. The girl you texting. She's having bad friends. Not really ideal

Chris-

Are you certain this isn't a MALE friend who would rather the girl he likes have fewer men in pursuit of her?
