Lately, I have been approaching more women with compliments but have noticed that most to not react well with how I come off.
The Situation: At a local grocery store I approached a women and gave her a compliment on the dress she is wearing. She acts nervous and surprised, says thanks and looks way. I did look at her first so I know that was a mistake. And my approach was when I was passing her in the aisle.
My question is do you need to be right next to them first and break the touch barrier before giving a compliment? I know I read not to come in frontal or look at them. But why not passing and then turn as if they were sitting down? Also, I don't stop to introduce when they act disinterested. That may be part of the problem. Should I go ahead and introduce myself even when they act disinterested?
I have gone right up to women on their side but for some reason they immediately move down the aisle like their afraid of me? Not sure what's going on but I think my vibe is off.
