So I recently hooked up with this friend of a friend, and after we hooked up she started to get really emotionally attached, despite my best efforts. As I got to know her better she turned out to be quite whiny and possessive, and not someone I enjoy being around, so I decided to phase her out. Problem is as I sought to minimize our contact, I think she became bitter and jilted, and I found out recently she started to bad mouth me to all my friends. Definitely not pleased.
I'm going to meet with her to make things clear and hopefully damage control as much as possible. Obviously it will be a highly emotionally charged conversation, does anyone have best practice or experiences to share on this?
And yes, I leared my lesson. Will definitely try to screen girls harder up front in the future, and try to reinforce expectations that I'm not looking for anything serious.
For more context, during our conversations I never said I'm looking for a relationship, I said I just moved to a new city
and am looking to know more people. I did say I was serious about getting to know her better, but didn't say anything about being exclusive or looking for a gf. Obviously I need to do much better than this next time!
Appreciate all the help,
