Help With The Push Pull Technique

the last few times I have used verbal push and pull on a woman, they have responded with "what is that supposed to mean?" Or something similar.

Im not really sure what to say back! How do women respond to you when you use verbal push and pull on them? How should I respond if they ask what it means? Just be vague?
