I have noticed that when you get a girl's contact, texting a bit back and forth before asking out can be helpful. I also noticed that the number of texts you have to send to increase the likelihood of her saying yes to a date is a function of how intense the first meeting was.

As a rule of thumb, how many texts would you send before you ask out:

- a girl you just chatted for a a few minutes the first time you met
- a girl you chatted for quite a bit the first time you met
- a girl you got physically close without kissing the first time you met
- a girl you kissed the first time you met?

Of course I am assuming this is a back and forth convo so for every text you send, she is replying with another text.
And I am not referring to online dating (which I currently don't do) but to girl whose number you got IRL.

There is no rule you go by feel ... The rule is more high point of investment in the texting... Obviously you will get higher investment with a bit more texting but not always....

So structure open or get open-banter (flirting, deep dive, second gen etc...)- high point of investment-soft close-hard close

As Skills said, it’s not about number of texts.

You determine when to soft close her by the amount of compliance she’s giving you. You set up the texts you send her to test her compliance, gain more compliance or reward her compliance. Compliance here being our gauge for how interested in us she is and how likely she is to say yes for a meet up request (respond favourably to our soft close).

This could be in 1 text or 30 spread over a couple weeks.

Ping, gauge interest, get sufficient compliance (or abort and try again another day), soft close, hard close.
