Looks like Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are going to have some serious gender wars coming up soon and I don't want to inspire emotional bitterness among women via talking about politics. So my strategy is to avoid politics when I can, but I was wondering what to do when you're pressed on it. Saying you support Hillary is sort of like saying you endorse feminism and that you are trying to pander to the girl via supporting women's rights and can't stand up for yourself. But then if you say you like Donald instead, then possible misogynist alarms go off in the girl's head. If you say that you won't say who you support, then that could inhibit the girl's ability to be close to you and may also inspire subconscious mistrust by making her wonder why you won't disclose it. So I'm not sure what to say to the girl if this is brought up, though I'd understand the responses differing from girl to girl.
Actually, a good corollary to this question is what to say when women's rights are brought up. Do you say you agree with feminists and risk looking like you're saying that just to sleep with her or do you stick up for yourself and demand what's fair for men too but then risk being labeled as a misogynist?
