I just read through Chase's interview with @Devilicious. I hadn't read his journals and LR's yet so I did and learned a lot. What a respectable dude this Dev!!

After going through Devilicious's material I ended up reading an old blog post of Chase's. VIBE seems to play a big role in Devilicious's skillset, and vibe is based on nonverbals:

In the article, Chase talks about Mehrabian's Rule:

Chase:
• 55% of communication is nonverbal
• 38% of communication is voice tone
• 7% of communication is the words you say

I'm aware that Mehrabian's Rule is VERY well known, I also knew it. Nonetheless I had been quite lazy with my nonverbal fundamentals lately and thought I could use Mehrabian's Rule as a daily reminder of sorts: focus on the nonverbal before focusing on voice tone; focus on voice tone before focusing on fashion/style, etc.

This way I wouldn't lose the forest for the trees!

Imagine a very fashinable guy talking a lot of sense while having tics, strange facial expressions, bad posture and an awfully odd voice (obviously a very exaggerated example, just to make a point).

This is all really, really basic stuff, I know, most guys here surely have got this handled, but perhaps somebody here doesn't always adhere to the "hierarchy of importance" of the fundamentals and loses some time on lower tier issues...I know I do. :)

So long!
