I saw a cute girl in a thai restaurant, decided to go in and have my dinner there. I sat beside her, asked what she was eating and ask her to point the food for me in the menu and if it was any good. We then engaged in conversation, we spoke about her unsuccessful job interview today for an admin job, what her previous work was and her hometown. As she was about to leave, I asked if she had any plans for the rest of the day and if she would like to have coffee with me just across the road. She agreed! I told her I could call her to meet after I finished my meal if she needs to go somewhere now but she said she will wait for me. We paid for our meals and off we went to the cafe.
I lead the way, brushing my arm against hers while walking on the street, trying to make some physical contact. When we arrived at the cafe, I chose a 2 seater table sitting across from each other; in hindsight I believe I made a mistake as I could not physically escalate her, I should have chosen to sit by her side. We maintained eye contact, I continued to deep dive with her but the topic just lead from one question to another with some small laughter along the way. Towards the end of the date, our final conversation ended like this. I tried to create a yes ladder and just go in for the pull
Me: Alright I understand you didn't get the job today, dont worry I got this bill. When you get a job, you turn to treat next time.
She laughs.
Me: At least your day didn't turn out that bad. You met me in the end.
She agreed.
Me: So what do you think if we continue on, how about we spent the evening together.
She: Sorry, I just felt a friend vibe with you, sorry.
Me: Shrug' ok, no problem.
We leave the cafe
Me: You sure? Id like to have breakfast with you tomorrow?
She: Im sure you will meet a nice girl someday
She hugs me and we part ways
The date lasted about 25mins. I think this is a typical beginner situation and from the point she agreed to go to another cafe with me was a new experience, so a big chuck of what went on was just based on intuition. I'd like to know how I could have done better?
