Forum Feedback Ip bans intermittent

This something that has happened lately i would say last couple of days .. were it looks i am banned ip blocked then later works... then rinse wash repeat

Are you seeing the white screen from Sucuri (our cloud proxy) saying your IP was banned?

Or is the forum loading but giving you a "banned IP" notice inside the forum site/theme?

First one for me a few times I tried to access last week (in the same attempt) but then was fine (I thought for a second that maybe females were banned from the site!)

Looks like this is a problem with our cloud proxy then (Sucuri).

I'm trying to access our account to open a support ticket with them, but all I'm getting is their site failing to load and

upstream request timeout​

Looks like they are having some kind of problem keeping their servers up right now.

(Bit of a bad problem to have a cloud proxy, TBH. The whole premise of a proxy service is "We will keep you online and accessible!")

Wonder if they are just getting slammed with a particularly massive/aggressive DDoS?

Usually those do not last for days though...

Anyway, I'll get to the bottom of it and update!

The problem is some people may go into auto rejection thinking they are actually banned and no come back...i argue with a senior poster trying to sell him... " Brah i just talked to Chase and teevester" you are not banned... And back and forth proving me why he is banned... I was like brah I have chase in video call"..so imagine the newer people and aspies..

Sucuri is saying they're not able to replicate the issue.

They're asking for some data.

Anyone encountering this, can you post here with:

1. Your IP address
2. The URL you were trying to access (i.e. what page of the forum)
3. The block ID (should be a "Block ID: NNNNNN")
4. And preferably a screenshot of the block

All that info will be in the block Sucuri shows.

Here's an example of where you can find it:



If you guys can share a few blocks like this with me, I can have them drill down into why these blocks are happening.

Hmm, yeah.

Looked up the risks and it looks like people trying to sniff out your identity can cross reference IP address alongside other details appearing across your posts in various forums to try to zero in on who you are.

Probably not too huge a risk for non-famous posters on this forum, but better infosec not to post publicly.

Can we DM you instead ?

I don't have private messages open, but some of the mods do.

In that case, please PM a moderator and he will pass along to me so I can get that to Sucuri.

Yes its obviously bad opsec to post your IP in public, but there are still ways to get it on a forum like this. If you really dont want anyone to know your IP then use a VPN.
