Is adulthood going to be more fun for current and future generations?

For a while, the path was simple.

High school then marriage with kids and a house or high school, then college, and then marriage with kids and a house. Adulthood had a very doom and gloom sort of scenario attached to it, it was supposed to be marriage, kids, and being uptight.

Now I notice that people are taking more time off after college to explore themselves, an almost new phenomenon is happening where people spend their 20s partying it up a bit longer, having more fun, and staying single before settling later down the road. While in the 1970s a 25-30 year old man was expected to be married and have kids, now it is less of the norm for a guy in that age group.

I feel like throughout history this has happened, college wasn't around forever and it wasn't always portrayed as being a journey through fun and hedonism because women weren't always allowed in colleges. Now in American culture it is portrayed as one of the main places to have your fun.

With all that is going in our society such as the decline of marriage and moral decay, I wonder if it is setting course for something new, a more fun and exciting adulthood.

I wonder if we are heading towards a society where adulthood is no longer stereotyped as boring and lame family life but something much more exciting.

It's as if we are almost getting to the point where after high school and college, there is a new period of life that is supposed to carry on the crazy experiences and wild times of those times.

Now should I or anyone on here care?

Because as independent as we may want to be, this simply means more prospects for us as guys. I don't know about you guys but I don't want to be that 30 year old man who has to go for 21 year old women because a woman around my age thinks she is above casual sex and has to get married now. I also don't want to have to hang with people that are much younger than me in order to enjoy any sort of a fun life because everyone else in their 30s decided to get married, have kids, and somehow become more uptight.

Best of all it just means more opportunities to have your fun as a man as you get older and aren't ready to settle down into family life.

I don't know enough about this subject to really say for sure, but damn I can't help myself and need to reply anyways and be notified of the conversations either way lol

From what little I understand (and I think it was Chase recommended a book about this kinda stuff) is that once hedonism and pleasure start to go up, society starts to go down. Which kinda makes sense, society needs obedient little worker drones to make the system go round.

There's also a book that I reaaaaaaally want about this kinda stuff:
The fate of empires by John Bagot Glubb

But there are other books out there about this kinda stuff to and I wish I had more money haha. This is fascinating to me.

But back to the subject: from what I've been noticing around me is that society is starting to decay, and a lot of the experts go further in saying that America itself is doomed.

But I read a post by Caleb Jones (blackdragon but on his personal blog [ http://calebjonesblog.com/how-bad-will- ... ll-happen/ ]for anyone that knows of him) that said that America isn't really doomed, per se. It's more like it's just declining. The post then goes on to talk about how America will end up like Portugal. Portugal used to control the world, Romans used to control the world and then there was also Alexander the Great and even the great Genghis Khan. All these people had enormous empires. And now they're nothing.

This line of thinking makes a lot of sense to me and I agree with it. But if you look around at different articles around the internet when it comes to money everyone pretty much agrees that the American dollar is close to hitting the shitter. And once that happens there won't be a whole lot of fun going around anymore.

Chase and I had a small discussion on one of his posts [and it's been a while so I'm working off of memory and I really hope he joins in the conversation because he knows a lot about this kinda stuff]. The topic was that once America does start to decline in a way where people can no longer be blind to it that women will start to become much more conservative on average and that men are going to start stepping up on average. This also makes sense to me if you think about how there just won't be enough time or too much risk for frivolities as people will be in too much stress to fuck around all of the time.

So in summary; I don't think that things are going to get more fun, in the long term. In the short-term it's going to get a lot more fun and free-love and everything. But once the curtain closes I think things are going to drastically change.

But like I said, I have a fascination with this kinda stuff but haven't done a ton of research yet. Thanks for posting this though!

RT,

This is a great read. It will only take you about 1-2 hours to get through it (I think it was like ~25 pages?) and will give you a great zoomed-out perspective on the rise and fall pattern of countries. Then you can make your own assumptions about the future of the U.S. based on it. :)

Now I want it even more lmao

But since you've read it, what are your thoughts on the OP's question? I'd love to read some more advanced opinions than mine

Let me tell you, in middle/high school having sex is really open now due to our sexual culture and social media. Girls are giving their pussies easier and there are more studs in highschool. I knew this 16 year old kid who was fucking a lot of girls with just social status. He had like 2 or 3 girls following him around in our practices. It was cute
