On the forum, we have the epic "suddenly dumped" thread, the guy with the "messy and unfinished" breakup, and I just had a guy on X DM me asking me what to do with a relationship of 3 months where the girl flipped from super into him to telling him she doesn't "feel it for" the two of them, refusing to meet.

Meanwhile, one of my mentorship students had a girl from his past suddenly pop up again after she broke things off with the guy she was seeing, wanting to see my student again (as he is the fun guy, and the girl just broke up with the serious guy).

Seems like the guys who are trying to take it serious with girls are getting dumped this August. Then are trying to get those girls back.

I don't remember August ever being "the breakup month" before, but did something change?

Might just be a random variation, of course. But I keep seeing this stuff and am like, "Whoa, it's everywhere all of a sudden."

August is officially Get Your Ex-Back Month now.

Maybe it has something to do with summer love... but I thought the trend there was guys getting dumped at the start of summer, so the girl could party up and have fun, not at the end of summer, after the fun times are over.

Anyway, it's weird!

random, but it may be the summer break, so colleges and school, have the summer off.... During the travels, or break or no physical contact they may have moved on or had flings during break...

i mean that is my speculation...usually break up season was after valentines...

Also the new gen z is very inexperienced more than any other, and a lot of tiktok instagram, social media influences (similar to red pill) but for women...

But i think is summer break (traveling time apart made them re think and take advantage of being away)

Again i am speculating.... Cause those posts are cringe anyways..

I think it's caused by 3 things:

1. Shift in society prioritising relationships & being more "conservative" which I think is an economic downturn trend. People couple up, split the rent or prefer to play it safe with a partner then do the rounds being single.

2. Men's standards for women & what they'll accept is low honestly some of the things I've seen lately have been disappointing and at times embarrassing. Despite red pill facades, most men are happy with whatever they can get. Including chasing ex's.

3. End of summer is beginning of winter cuffing season August/September guys would have had their fun and picked the best girl from their roster to enjoy winter months. But because of points 1, 2 and lack of competence men are clinging on prematurely.

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

Yes, that could be a factor.

Time away = time to reflect ("Maybe this is not the right relationship for me.").

There is definitely a correlation with major relationship strife coinciding with that "couple apart from each other for multiple weeks in a row."

That's an interesting theory. Guys prematurely clamping onto girls rather than waiting till cuffing season, and the girls squirming loose sooner.

...

Only issue with the low quality girls hypothesis is that has been an issue as long as I have been in the game... guys pairing up with girls where you just go, "Huh? THAT girl? Why, bro?"

But then it is the same across the board -- women telling each other "You're too good for him!" etc.

Hard finding those guys & gals with "universal romantic appeal."

But I could see a conservatism disconnect leading to a shift in breakup timing.

All the polls tend to show men racing into conservatism much more than women.

The pickup space has greatly retracted. Most men are trying to wife girls up ASAP these days.

Meanwhile women are not treating it nearly as urgent.

There might be a mismatch there.
