What I notice is that women become really curious about me if you know something about them or someone else, or if I anticipate something that someone's about to do before they do. When you meet someone there's a huge amount you can guess about them if you pay attention and piece a few things together. Often I show off with this and the girl will always say "how did you know that?" and demand an answer. I think it's better not to reveal how I know. It's like as if women are just used to being able to pool the wool over men's eyes, and are then surprised when you know more than they thought.
I've always heard that women are better at reading people than men. I don't know if I really believed it, but recently I read this:
"Women have an greater capacity than men to pick up and decipher non-verbal signals. This is why few husbands can lie to their wives and get away with it and why, conversely, most women can pull the wool over a man's eyes with his realising it."
Women have between fourteen to sixteen areas of the brain to evaluate others' behaviors, while men have four to six areas. This is why research at Harvard showed that when men and women were put watching silent movies, that women scored 87% accuracy when asked to decode what was happening by watching the body language, leaving men with 42% accuracy.

But what really puzzles me, is that if all this was the case wouldn't it mean that men wouldn't be able to keep up with women in social situations?? And that doesn't really seem to be the case. I assumed that the only reason women often appear to be more socially intelligent in bars and clubs, was because women have the upper stake in the dating game. And so it's easier for women to come across as the sex that are more socially aware, when men who are chasing are acting stupid because they're nervous.
