Keeping interest between dates

Are there good articles on how to keep a girl interested between the first and second dates (or maybe more) when you have not taken her as your lover?

I travel pretty often (sometimes for weeks) and date girls that are usually busy so sometimes we can't make a second date happen in a a couple of weeks.
I feel things tend to get cold often.

What’s worked for me is:

1. Adding a concrete date in your online diaries (which busy people tend to keep) with a very clear date plan e.g. Bar xyz that serves 123 that we realised we both love on our first date

2. Half way through when you will meet her e.g. week 1 of 2 send a low touch “Saw this & thought of you” with a picture message or voice note that relates to something you spoke about on your first date

3. Send a we still good for xyz date 2 days before.

Actually I’ve been doing something similar.

The issue I encounter is when I ask to set up a date one or more weeks in advance, they normally say something like “we’ll get in touch”... it feels weird to insist on making these appointments serious.
