This is the third time I'm typing this as my writing got wiped twice after typing. It really pissed me off.
The thing I love about GC is the fact that it's not just seduction that is taught but also how to make improvements generally in life. So that's why I have decided to make this post as I feel that so many of you here can give me quality advice. I have been having a difficult time due to some limitations that have been holding back my growth. Here's a little background info on me: The three things that are most important to me right now are writing (it's a talent I've always had and I'm passionate about), business (I've got great ideas to that would provide essential services and I've made research and found out that they're quite lucrative. I've studied books on business too and I'm very passionate about it) and most recently, the social arts. I come from a lower middle class background and I will be going for my second year in college next month, studying English. Before I jump right to listing out my limitations in the trio, I'd like you to note that your advises/suggestions should be universal and not only tailored to suit certain demographics (e.g U.S) as we might come from different countries whose realities differ. Now that being said, here they are

SOCIAL ARTS
These are my limitations
1. Money - this is my major limitation to fully immersing myself in learning the social arts as I need money to:
*Rent an apartment for seduction sake so as to learn how to escalate properly and for comfort sake. The hostels over here are not suited to get intimate with girls (I was tempted to explain why but honestly, it would take lots of words to explain why this is and how things are over here)
*Go on dates with girls
*Hang out (this is for the sake of socialising and meeting girls) - these include clubbing (you'll need to buy drinks and pay taxi fare), going for shows and parties (you'll need to buy tickets/I.Vs even for the major parties they throw over here), going to the cinema, etc
*Buy GC materials and subscribe so as to boost my learning curve
2. Schooling (time) - I had some bad grades last semester so I need to work hard to make up for it when school resumes. Honestly I haven't been successful in killing two birds with one stone (an allusion to The Tool's post on schooling and picking up girls). I find it hard to study while also doing other stuffs like socialising, pick up, hitting the gym, trying to make money, etc.
3. Present environment - this is temporal as I'll be leaving home next month when school resumes
Efforts I'm Making:
*I practice my fundamentals daily
*I try to get into a conversation with everyone I come across (although I don't go out much and my present environment (home) is quite serene)
*I'm trying to save up some money (although it's not really forthcoming)

BUSINESS
Well this one is quite tricky but I and my brother have been working on an event that's supposed to be annual. We've been making slow but steady progress and it's supposed to happen at the end of the first quarter of next year. As for a business with a more stable income, we're trying to raise capital for a start up. I also need to finish up my first degree so I can go for an MBA and write an exam to qualify as an investment banker (this is for the purpose of making some money and to have a deeper understanding of the stock/financial market so as to help me branch out into my own business). So I can't afford to mess with my grades here.

WRITING
You all would think that studying English makes me privileged as it would help my writing. Well what is taught in school and the type of writing I'd like to do are quite different. It's not helping me in the right way. Don't get me wrong what I'm learning is helping me improve my knowledge of English generally but it's not tailored to suit my specific needs. (I understand that studying English in my country might be different from studying it in a place like say, U.S where you might have options of courses like, novel writing, script writing, fiction and non fiction writing, etc or I might be wrong as I've never lived in America)
Efforts I'm Making:
I'm searching to find courses tailored to suit me online but I'm not sure if I'll have the time for this as I need to work harder on my academics (school sucks)
Pls anyone that has suggestions on how to improve my grades should let me know. If not for the fact that I'm naturally gifted and intelligent I'd probably fail my courses as I find it hard to concentrate and study hard (blame it on youthful exuberance or whatever).
P.S I'm not displaying a victim mentality here and neither do I believe that this obstacles are bigger than me. I know I'll overcome this challenges and find great success in life in those three areas. The purpose of writing this is to get some possible insights that I might have not realised, on how to move past all of these.

Sugar,

As much as it may pain you to hear this you are in a victim mentality... of sorts. There are two things that people complain they don't have enough of - I was recently made aware of this as I do it too, and you're doing it here: time and money. But, you acknowledge them as something to be overcame instead of something you can do nothing about.

The reality is that you don't need money to access anything in life - it simply makes it easier but it is by no means the only tool you can use to access information or materials you want. Me, for example, I have $0 in my bank account after quitting my job over disputes in my university life but I am learning life coaching, reading, bedding new women all the time, practicing my martial arts, etc. Could I do all of these things more efficiently with money, yes, but I don't let money stop me from doing anything. Hell, I'm learning lockpicking as a brand new hobby, etc.

Time management is not natural to most people, but it's something easily learned. If you look at everything you do daily from brushing your teeth until you fall asleep there are things you can do in couples - an example would be boiling water for coffee while brushing your teeth - that'll probably save you 2-3 minutes, and when you pair enough things up during a day you end up saving an hour or two.

Grades/Writing - What problems are you specifically having? What area of writing do you want to pursue that isn't being taught? You'll need to elaborate here before anybody can give you solid answers.

Thanks Richard for making me realize this kinda victim mentality I got. I guess I need to nip it in the bud. As for grades I now realize I suck at time management so I don't read until it's close to tests/exams and the short period of time in between is never enough to catch up. Also when I read I realise I easily lose focus. I'd like to know more about time management if you don't mind (maybe book suggestions). I'd like to learn fiction writing right now. I got an idea of a book but I haven't been able to work on it (time management issue). I understand to be a good writer you need to write daily (I guess I need to work on that one). I really have a lot to learn to improve my writing I realise. Last semester we did lots of courses on grammar (that's really boring), we did practical criticism, intro to the novel (where we read lots of books and answered questions on them), we did a comprehension course (where you read comprehension passages and answer questions on it) also technical and academic writing. I'd love to write novels, movie scripts, memoirs/travelogue and stuffs like that. But I guess I need to start small. I hope I've made it clearer.

Ohh fun stuff here.

The time management you need then is just planning, and keeping to a schedule. It sounds like you have time but don't know how to use it effectively. Being that I'm still in college I stay on top of my assignments and keep them organized. I also estimate how long each assignment will take me (either based on previous experience, or based on my teacher's advice) and double it to avoid the planning fallacy. Sounds like you're underestimating how long it will take you to study so the simple remedy is to make your original estimation and then double it. If I'm mistaken and you simply don't have time and need to make it then I'll re-write my post.

For writing - writing a book is something true to me and the advice I got was to let the book write you. When you try to force a story when you're writing things turn out sloppy, rushed, and half-assed. The advice about writing it daily is only partially true - you should work on it daily but you should let the book write itself and not force it.

Recently, I was exchanging messages with somebody who had a problem with their intuition, and the advice I gave him is the advice I'm going to give you:

"Your body, heart, and soul knows more than your mind ever will and it will guide you in the right direction so long as you don't get in your own way."When you try to consciously write a story you're getting in your own way and it shows in the final work. J. K. Rowling trusted her intuition when writing her Harry Potter series despite many many people rejecting it and look at where it is now. In my opinion, academic writing will never prepare you for writing a novel or fiction and I know enough people and have researched enough to say this with certainty.

My last semester was stressful and we even did a course (Theatre workshop) which involved us writing, directing and staging our play. We spent so much time rehearsing over again. I heard the next semester (which is about to resume) will be a bit less tasking. So, although I can't say I had the leisure of time, but I can say I'd achieve much learning how to manage my time.

That's quite brilliant and I'll surely remember that one.

Yea I totally agree with you. I found this out after I'd started studying English. Well I've learnt a lot from this post and I sure as hell should find a way to put my shit together.
On a different note; I think you'd make a great life coach.
