Hey guys, so I recently started fixing my breathing and using my diaphragm, as well as using Gchase resources and Hector's youtube videos to improve my voice. I had a quick question. So, I started practicing grounding, which is having awareness in your belly, pelvic region, and legs and emphasizes proper breath( see Elliot Hulse or Fearless Men on youtube for more information), and I tried practicing that purr in my voice by humming.

I combined the humming and belly breathing and started speaking that way, which sounds good, but I am getting tired, and my throat is getting achy soon after I talk that way. I know that if people try force talking deeper by speaking from a lower portion of the throat, it sounds try hard and is terrible for the vocal cords as you are smashing them together and, in more severe cases, can lead to major surgeries. I have heard the key is to speak with freedom and not by forcing by artificially lowering your voice, but I can't tell anymore when I add the purr?

Do you think that I am doing the sexy voice correctly, or do you have any general tips in adding the purr while speaking from the chest/diaphragm because I maintain it without throat soreness?

I used Roger Love's books to really improve my voice. I throughly recommend them. He is the vocal coach of Micheal Jackson and Owen Cook (RSD Tyler). I still use all the tricks he gives in my daily life.

Also Neil Strauss has killer vocal exercises in the first chapters of his book "Rules of the Game".

That's all anyone needs about voice IMO. It's not that complicated and requires massive work & brainpower. It just has 3-4 core principles that you must lock in but me paraphrasing it might butcher it so you better check out the books.

Edit: Here it is,
