So I was invited to a restaurant with my old coworkers next Friday. I left like 2 years ago. A girl I was dating there will also be there next Friday. No one knew we were dating and dated upto a year that I had left.

I don’t want to show up and kill the mood or vide. I’m not interested in getting back together with her.

I was thinking of texting her to give her a heads up that I will be there.

I’ve passed my jerk faze. In the past I would have showed up and not care.

But I’m know in my genuine man faze and want to have fun next week and not kill the vibe since it’s been a while that I’ve seen everyone.

Any suggestions as to what I should text her. I don’t want her to think that I want to get back with her.

"Hi NAME, it's ramshead. Hope you're well! INVITING NAME has invited me to THING, it'll be great to catch up with everyone again."

You contact and greet her, give your name in case she doesn't have your number (saves face and covers any awkward situation), shows consideration, sets the situation that you've been invited and you're going, takes focus of you two and puts emphasis that you're looking forward to seeing your old co workers.

Don't acknowledge that it could be awkward, don't ask her if it's okay. You're being cool and confident, if she has a problem she won't turn up and you've socially told her you're accepting this invitation.
