Motivation during winters?

This is something, looking back and at now, that I have been struggling with forever: keeping the motivation when it's cold and there is little daylight. It's getting to the point where I slack on my diet, gym and drinking water. And my social drive is usually high but I have been skipping more dance classes these days.

How do you guys keep yourself motivated and actually do things you're working to improve during winter season?

Oh boy…
(Disclaimer: I live in the sunny horse latitudes of SoCal but seasonal mood issues run in my family so I feel it most years.)

The key seems to be:

1) Make the best use of sunshine. This mainly means:
2) OUTDOOR exercise. Straightforward.
3) People. The right kind of people. Stay away from stressful or negative people.
4) Diet. Keep it balanced. Don’t obsess about calories etc. It’s winter; get exercise and your body will take care of itself.
5) Momentum. Good habits lead to good outcomes, and continued good habits.

Last but not least (drumroll):

6) Cold exposure. It keeps you alert, focused, etc.

These days, If I have more important or more "fun" things to do than the field (more fun than the field is contextual since pick up during winter is not that fun), then I will focus on that.

I think, unless you are pick up obsessed, or really wanting to learn and push yourself (winter pick up in cold weather is an extra challenge), then I think focusing on social circles is a better call.

Do not forget Vitamin D OP. It will boost your motivation, but keep in mind that most people around you will stay lethargic
That’s part of the point of the sunshine. Most people don’t need supplements

Title:
Motivation during WINTERS
(Hint: there is not a lot of sunshine during winter)

Also factually false, darker skinned people or even dark haired people regularly report Vitamin D deficiencies and these supplements help a bunch.

A lot of people these days stay indoors even in summer except to go from place to place…
If you spend multiple hours a day in direct sunlight in the winter, as I suggested initially, I doubt most people would have problems.

I was aware there are differences ofc.

However, I’m not sure whether it’s a lifestyle thing, or legitimately difficult in higher latitudes.

Most Europeans, including prehistoric inhabitants of Britain and Northern Europe, were quite dark-skinned until several thousand years ago, when alleles for lighter-skinned genes started flowing in from the steppe and Anatolia. The latter, Early European Farmers, seem to have been deeply olive-skinned. One assumes that they all got a fair amount of the sun from their preindustrial lifestyle.

So I don’t think in most cases that blaming skin tone would be any different than me blaming my own genes for a greater need for outdoor time in the winter.

Again very false. Quality of sunlight is very different during winters. Surveyor I do not want to get into a debate about this. Also most people tend not to be outside for several hours during, so yes supplementation helps a bunch.

Dude again VERY false. Different ethnicities react wildly different to absence of sunlight. Just do a google search it will pop up immediately everywhere. Stop derailing the thread with false information.

Yeah for me winter is more of a time diving into projects, staying fit, being meditative, maintaining current strong connections.

That said @Lover if you don't have some solid girls in your rotation it would probably do well to push yourself to make it happen. I just moved to a new city so that's definitely where I'm at this winter. There might be less opportunity to generate leads, or you have to dig a bit deeper. But the girls who are available during winter are often very much game for a nice medium term fling. Something consistent and fun until spring when there is more opportunity to socialize.

Just getting outside everyday is a major motivator for me in general during the winter. Also cold exposure. Embrace the cold and get out more

Thanks guys, really appreciate all your tips! Already do vitamin D, but I will do a double dose just in case

I will keep in mind to walk more whenever it's possible and do all the fun stuff that is scheduled

I'm going to add one myself: don't cum often (by masturbating)

Just want to make a quick comeback to this thread since winter is pretty much over here.

I don't know how much vitamin D helped but I take them nonetheless as a routine.

The most noticeable actions to my energy levels were plenty sleep, exercise/gym/martial arts and masturbating less.

Also, I try to drink plenty of water but I seem to forget it when it's colder and when I go to work.

All in all, this was a better winter than most.

I bought a pair of light therapy glasses that I used for some time last winter. I don't think it changed much

I dont think they have some effect at all as the box, box is used in the morning for if you cant get it outside from the sun, depends on the weather, to set the proper sleep rhytm for your body, u just put it on ur table while u are doing something when u wake up and it exposes you to ideal amount of bright light for your body as u wake up, properly used you will always fall asleep at the same time and wake up and will make u a lot more energised, though I didnt use it personally, probably will at some point

Though for it to work properly u need to wake up and use it at the same time for some time

I work long hours, sometimes round the clock. It's impossible to have a proper routine with this stuff as long as those are my conditions.
