I'm moving to a national park where I'm gonna work and live for a season.

I hear Texans are all about testosterone, men being men, and grit. What better place to be?

I feel like this is gonna mold a lot of how I view masculinity and urban/civil vs rural/raw living.

Any fashion advice for when I do get out there?

Would wearing a cowboy hat be odd since I'm new there (incongruent)?

This is for someone who enjoys fashion design and stuff. Figured it might be fun.

If you don't wear a cowboy hat now don't start just because of moving to a new state. For Casual I'd recommend a trucker hat with a curved bill. Flat bill=douchebag. Maybe add a denim shirt with pearl snaps. Go to the live music venues and see how the folks your age dress. Observe the hat styles. Straw or felt, colors, Crown creases, Brim Shapes , Brim sizes.

If you decide you would like a cowboy hat here is what you do: Go to the local western wear place and ask the attractive young lady to help you pick out a hat, and tell her that you are putting a lot of stock in her opinion on what looks good, but you just really want something that will keep the sun off your head and neck. She could be a target or a social circle pivot.
