My unusual take on Mystery method, still highly respect the dude

I don't think MM is for beginners, the way that he does social value/proof, DHV and etc, all these things aren't beginner friendly, requiring more finesse

In hindsight I probably lost a lot of lays due to drawing things out too long and making sure I went through all the “phases” before moving on to the next one.

No he doesn't is not his style or goal... His style is to be boyfriend zone which is bizarre tbh .. he is looking for a girlfriend...he is like a romantic...he doesn't care for ons...which is weird bizarre style to actually get in a relationship and counter productive... But again he is a romantic.... He doesn't want or care about moving faster...

Which is why I don't get why you want to do mm is not your style... You should learn Captain Jack is a sexualize form of mm were they move faster...

The more advanced guys who have different styles have perfectly valid critiques of MM, especially if you don't want a girlfriend. But I would remind yall that the vast majority of guys who seek out "community" information aren't like you. They just can't get a girl for the life of them and just want a LTR and a family. The vast majority of guys Ive ever met who buy something or start reading in general pay attention to it just long enough to get that first girlfriend and then they drop it. They dont want harems or ONS every week or anything like that. I think TMM is great for them as it also sets you up to be a better person in your social circle, society, whatever.

If I did have critiques of Mystery specifically, especially his early stuff is the way people misunderstood negging and peacocking probably set the community back years. Negging specifically was the thing that all the haters pounced onto and held up as how toxic the community is. With peacocking, guys that didn't understand peacocking and that Mystery himself was a magician so how he looked was congruent with his identity would go out dressed like a clown when they were an IT Admin and not understand the difference between attraction and clown attention.

Everyone wants to still talk about TMM from 2004 because Mystery himself disappeared and when he did come back he was more focused on coasting and cashing in than he was evolving. The natural evolution of TMM was Style's product and then CJ/sexual framing stuff.

TMM is also a mostly "outer game". It preaches to be high value but give almost no instruction on how to get there. When I was starting out I watched all the DD stuff as well as Tyler's archive and it was the perfect compliment to TMM because it was mostly inner game focused where TMM was outer game. If you don't have your inner game down youre going to flounder with TMM, especially if youre using routines as a crutch since you're going to run out of them pretty quickly.

I'm always still surprised to see people genuinely and earnestly interested in the Mystery Method.

If you've seen the material from Swinggcat (like Real World Seduction 2.0): you'll realise that Mystery simply used the principles espoused by Swinggcat to create (now outdated) routines - while adding a hodgepodge of other very specific routines (suggested to him by students or members in his forums) to create frames indirectly.

He then added a "structure" - because, as I've seen when I do coaching myself, most beginners BEG for exact "lines", exact "sentences" and alot of logic for how and why they're doing things in a seduction. Mystery catered to this beginners desperate need for logic and structure and preyed on it.
The material that I used and tried by Mystery did far more harm than good when I was very young, which I didn't see until I began experimenting with other methods.

The only thing in Mystery Method that is original to Mystery himself (and not taken from others like Swinggcat) and remaining useful to this day is; 'Locking in' and some elements of 'Group Theory'.
Were these BOTH his original ideas? I can't see anyone else using them before him - but I'm happy to be corrected.


I think as a seduction community - we all need to simply memory hole the Mystery Method as outdated and nostalgic and continue moving forward to sharper and better seduction methods.

mystery has this super tall stature most people don't have, so have to work on his attainability a lot more than other guys, his more of a serious dude based off of what I'll see from his infield, his leaning himself more on the protector/provider side by default whereas his more goofy Beckster wing, I know for a fact pulls more than him. but mystery focuses a lot on retention compared to one time fast lays.

there's also the pre selection side mystery uses well to his advantage, picking the hottest one later on from the "social circle" he created where his by default leading them. these tactics works.

his escalation, his dogma ways of wanting to get a GF/s and ultimately his "purpose" for game created his style, he force frames on others, doesn't work for a lot of people

Almost ALL my lays are very fast over the last few years and I've had no issues with retention.
That's another one of Mystery's old 'long game' (opposing short game) that made his seduction method more irrelevant.

I just think others did it much better, either before and AFTER him - so I don't understand why people keep returning to Mystery at all.

It just seems like guys are really attached to that logical "structure" that Mystery provided because their male brains really need some logic injected in a seduction, despite all they've learned about the non-logical nature of women.

I've done mostly daygame in the last few years (about 70%).

The ones that I wasn't interested in - were the ones I didn't retain.

Or I was with them for awhile and I moved on or they moved, etc.

So there's been no retention issues from either Day game or night game for me for years (post-sex).
