Hey folks,

First time poster here. Not too long ago, i picked up a new retail job. It was something I felt would be helpful in developing my overall social skills considering I've never held a costumer service/sales position before. Shortly after starting my position, I stumbled upon GirlsChase. The interesting thing is discovering the parallels between working in a retail environment and trying to pick-up women.

I now find myself almost effortlessly starting conversations with women and being able to relate to just about anybody. Although people are actively looking for your help when on the job, it helps immensely in starting up conversations with complete strangers in any situation. For anybody looking to sharpen their social skills, I would highly recommend picking up a retail/customer service position.

Anyway, I was wondering how one would go about picking up colleagues. It's a delicate situation considering if things don't work out, women will still have to spend a large portion of their day with you. They will want to protect their image which may lead to them being slightly apprehensive about agreeing to a date.

I guess the same could be said about me; being afraid of my status taking a blow if I get denied. Normally I wouldn't care too much about what others think but I would prefer to keep things cool and lower key with the people I work with. I'm not really a fan of having drama at work (especially involving me). Honestly, it seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

The simple answer would be to not change anything that you would normally do but It would be great to hear something a little more insightful than that. I would like to hear some other thoughts/advice on how to handle stuff like this in a work setting.

Thanks,

Ray
