I read the New Year’s Eve post right before I went out to celebrate this year, which motivated me to just be spontaneous and see where the night could take me. At the bar where I met some friends, this hot girl started dancing close so I introduced myself, we chatted a bit and then danced together. She mentioned a party at her place, so I got her number. Later after midnight, I hit her up and she sent me her address.
I went over there to find she was having a small party at a rental house. Everyone was paired up except her (her brother and his girlfriend; her friend and her boyfriend, her all alone). All her female friends kept nudging her and looking at me like she had done a good job picking a mate that night, so they were cool with the whole thing.
We got to know each other, and she joked how crazy her family is. After one more drink, she was pretty much drunk (which I couldn’t tell till too late). But we danced then made out in the corner, where she was getting explicit about hooking up—only problem was she was staying on the couch so her friends could get the rooms, which meant I would have to wait. Everyone was cool with me being there, and when they cleared out of the kitchen, things started getting heavy between us before we pulled back (I also wanted her to sober up). I left her to check my phone by the door when her brother and his friend confronted me, telling me I should leave. I thought they were joking at first (a few of them had been joking about me being her date earlier) but they were dead serious, telling me “to get the fuck out.” Not knowing them or wanting anything rotten to go down, I left without getting to say bye.
I feel like I did the smart thing by getting out of there. I can’t think of a socially savvy way to calm some drunk guys threatening me down (I deflected them with humor first). At that point, it didn’t seem worth it, and I would just hope I would hear from her later.
I texted the girl the next day about what happened with no response. I texted her the following night if she would be out, and she messaged back saying she was out of town. So I asked her when she would be returning home so we could meet up. Nothing yet. How should I try to recreate that intensity to see her and finish what we started? Or is it simply one of those one night things? You get to go all the way or not at all?
