Hello Gents!
I decided to put up an FR today, as this is the second time this week I've started things with a cougar. I'm finding I feel a little at a loss for how to approach the interest side, and both asked me why I wanted to meet with them. Any tips for interactions with mature women would be very welcome (I'm 22).
In Target, around 9:30pm, I pass by her and notice she's pretty, and I go back to look at an item, and she dipped into the aisle for a moment, and I just shot it up with something (I fumbled my words badly haha):
We part ways and I text her about 20 minutes later:
I've never felt any kickback from moving fast on texting (before intimacy, that is.......), not sure if it was how soon I moved to that (not waiting a day) or if she just wasn't ever going to go along. Again, any tips on cougars would be very welcome, I love older women (she's probably in her 40's), but I need to be smoother in how I present my interest to them.
I plan to text her again in a couple days: "Hey ___, how is your week going? I was thinking we should do dinner soon, what evenings do you have free?"
Any tips on that, as well, let me know!

Her: Just trying to find wine glasses, not like those
Me: Ah, looking for nicer stuff
She starts moving on, then comes back to the aisle
Her: Oh, I thought you worked here
Me: No problem (as I walk towards her end)
Me: Is this the only time you can get groceries?
Her: (forgot her response)
Me: It's amazing how you go down every aisle and there's something you think you could use (my sexuality is sucking)
Her: Yes, so why are you here right now?
Me: Came to get some things for a friend, and some turned into a lot (it was actually Postmates)
Me: So what do you do?
Her: Part time with marketing for a company, and getting my PhD
Me: Cool, in what? Marketing?
Her: Business
Me: Nice, what's your name? (my voice and eye contact started coming alive)
Her: ____ (foreign name)
Me: ____... Where are you from?
Her: Turkey
Me: Wow, and I'm Josh (I put my hand out, but didn't move toward her, so she would have to come to me)
Me: ____ from Turkey, that's awesome. How long have you been here?
Her: 11 years
Me: Wow, you haven't been in school all 11, have you? (trying to tease, but forgot she's a PhD, so yes...)
Her: I have, I got my Masters already, where are you from?
Me: I'm from more NorCal, hey, I need to finish off with my groceries, but you seem like someone I'd like to get to know, how'd you like to grab dinner sometime? (any advice for asking out a cougar?)
Her: Well.... we can be Facebook friends (I smirk at this)
Her: I just broke up yesterday, so I'm just trying to...
Me: Ah, just taking some time, no worries, it would just be dinner
Her: Well, I could add you on Facebook
Me: I don't really use Facebook (I'm being warm the whole time, though the words are pretty clear cut)
Her: Why do you want to meet?
Me: (Here's where I need the most improvement, word wise, I feel) I thought you were pretty and you seem to have a good amount of experience (realized I just called her old...) about...things
Her: Well... you are very nice (comes to shake my hand again) you really made my day, (comes in for a hug, I hold her strong and warmly [rock climbed 2 hours earlier]) (kind of motions to leave)
Me: I want to see if I can get this right, what's your name again? (take out my phone, types in her name on a contact page) Is this how you spell your name?
Her: Oh, that's very close to how it's sounded out, it's........(I forgot this part) (I hand her my phone to fix it)
Me: Ah, and what's your number? (she hesitates, and kind of laughs a bit)
Her: Alright (puts her number in)
We chat some more, I ask her a couple more things, she asks me a couple things. Unfortunately, she was standing kind of far, so I couldn't really touch her (I was locked in on my cart)
We part ways and I text her about 20 minutes later:
- Me: Glad I ended up at Target tonight
(Read right away)
Her:
Me: What's your schedule looking like this week? (Not read after almost an hour)
