So this was apart of one of GC's April Fools articles:

I have to say that the middle one is quite the looker!

I'm thankful that I was never born in North Korea, but it's making me think about a visit to South Korea haha.

I kind of want to visit North Korea just for the thrills. I'm sure it's too risky though. I'll probably die, or if I live, I'll probably be expatriated....

As a pretty well seasoned traveller who has been to some interesting totalitarian regimes (Ashgabat, Tirana, Baku anyone?), I can tell you with confidence that Pyongyang is probably the safest place to travel to on the planet. The chances of you being swindled, mugged, assaulted, or mistakenly wandering into the "not-so-nice" part of town is exactly 0%, as the DPRK has a very good law and order situation (the penalties for crime are very high, and the government is very good at surveillance and enforcement). The government is dependent on tourism for its energy security. Thanks to the cartel known as OPEC, so they take great care in assuring that the tourists keep on coming.

That said, as you are required to be accompanied by a government guide at all times when you leave your hotel, cold approaching probably wouldn't work so well :)

Visiting is supposed to be a great experience and it's up there on my bucket list. If only it wasn't so damn expensive..
