Opener ideas for a girl sitting by herself, reading a book?

Recently, I'm coming across girls reading books pretty often. Mostly on the beach, in the evenings.

I find it a bit rude to interrupt a girl that's reading, and haven't come up with a good opener yet. Any ideas?

"What book are you reading?"

"So... ahem... [point at her book] read any good books lately?"

Ahem..."I hate to break it to you, but the girl dies in the end"
Especially funny if the book she's reading is serious non-fiction.
But also works otherwise.
