Randomness -- you just never know

I met a girl at a park two days ago who I thought was *super* into me. The most positive response I've had, ever. Huge smile, nice chat, good chemistry, and she volunteered to look at her schedule to set up another time right then and there (I said no, I'll just text you). Yet she texted me the next day saying that "I'm not really dating right now."

On the other hand, I met another girl on the street later that day who was lukewarm *at best*. I somehow get her number, and had written her off the moment she walked away. Yet she responded to my Icebreaker, "Nice to meet you too . It would be good to meet again." Now, we're getting drinks in a few days.

I probably messed it up with the first girl -- I should have tried for an insta-date, or to see her that night. It's fine, mistakes come with being new.

But that's not the point. The point is, there is a *huge* element of chance in this game. And I am shocked at the pure randomness of everything.

And I think that's why this is so *fun* -- these surprises are what make life and game so interesting! You never know what's around the bend. And with that, best of luck to you, with whatever surprise next awaits.

I try to make predictions in my head & I’m probably 30% right at best

Nowadays I see dating like blackjack or any other skills based card game.

You can’t control the cards you’re dealt but you can control how you react to different situations to get the highest *probability* of success.

It’s never guaranteed.

There will always be an element of luck. Which can just as easily work for you as against you.

But if you play your cards right...You’ll hit wins more often.

That’s the beauty of it! Where would the fun be in a guaranteed win
