Met a girl, Melissa in my class. The class is very small and intimate, so I can't really chat with her without everyone in the class seeing/hearing, so I've only got about a 30 second, maybe 1 minute window, to talk to her every M/W/F before and after class. Initially, whenever class was starting or ending, she would dart in and out of the room like a bat out of hell (I guess since she had no connections with the people in the class).
But since I've managed to get into a few small conversations in with her, it seems like she has a little more time for me. Now whenever she leaves class, she begins to dart out, but then she slows down right around me, enough for me to create a shoot-the-shit conversation. Although I try to always keep the conversation about her and do my best to deep dive on a severely limited time budget. When she walks into class, she smiles and says hello to me, and I try to slowly and suavely say "hey, hows it goin'?" She says shes doing good, and asks me back, I say I'm doing well, thank you. Which is usually accompanied by a giggle on her end. Also, whenever our eyes meet, I throw in a sexy half smile, or even a wink
And now this next part is going to sound crazy, but when we leave, we have to go through several doors to make it out of the area, and the way she holds them for me seems very personal. I don't even know how to describe it, or if anyone knows what I'm talking about. It's not like holding a door for a stranger, where you stand like a robot waiting for the next person to grab the door. All I can say is that it looked like an unnatural way to hold the door for someone you wouldn't give a second thought to.
But whatever, that's just my take on the door-holding situation.
So last Friday we were walking down the stairwell, and we were getting off at different flights, so she stopped at my flight and I said let's get coffee sometime. She smiled and said she can't because she's busy all day. I said, okay, some other time. Later that day, I read the article saying that if you get that sort of response, you can play it off like a joke (clutching your chest, saying youre breaking my heart, etc), although I thought I kept my cool and composure by acting like it's no biggie.
So next Monday I'll just ask again, since I should not necessarily take her rejection at face value.
Let me know your thoughts.
