Hey Raehgar, you're right you def should leave it on. It does kinda seem like she's chasing when she sees you read it and did not reply.

That has the potential to work but can backfire too, if she knows that you're purposely waiting to get back to her. If the read message is off then she really has no clue what you are up to and can only wonder if you're out, working or wherever. It can sometimes work, but just be careful like I said

Agree with Whizzy here. I think it will just end up annoying most girls and not work in your favour. It just ends up giving the impression as though you are trying to look like you're too cool or too busy. I'd recommend turning it off. . .or just buying a Samsung. They're better.

On second thought, it seems I am breaking the law of least effort by having my read receipts on purpose to get girls chasing, and I'm sure girls realize that deep down.
I'll just keep my read receipts off.

For those of you that use Facebook, another sneaky feature I use relatively frequently for messaging is the "Mark As Unread" feature.
If you happen to be wanting to view a message that someone sent you, but you don't want them to know you viewed it, you can open up the message, read it, and then click "Actions (top right corner) -> Mark As Unread" and it will remove the receipt so that the other person won't know that you've viewed the message. I've only tested this in the browser version of Facebook, but I'm unsure if it exists in the Messenger app. I think I checked once and I could not find it, although it may be there now.
Just a quick tip for those of you who use Facebook messages frequently.

You never want to give a girl more information than is necessary via correspondence (text/e-mail/FB message/etc).
