Responding to texts in response to your initial text

Ok now there's one thing I'm wondering. After you meet a girl you send off the initial text like "hey, nice meeting you today". Chase says he sends off the initial text then leaves it for a day then gets back in contact the following day. what if a girl responds to your initial text? not necessarily asking a question but let's say she says something like "hey it was nice meeting you too. completely unexpected but nice " should you respond to that text or leave it then text again a day later?
