Hey guys,

I'm debating with myself what to do here.

I scheduled a date with her for beginning of new year and I know she is at work tonight.
Now the BF replies saying he checks her messages every week.

I really dislike these controlling men.

His last 2 texts are:

and what's the meaning of the date and and the place!
I mean no way!
I live with her!!!

I'm undecided between not replying until she gets back her phone or replying now and telling him it's just a friendly thing.

If he's a true BF, I feel not replying is more likely to backfire.
I'm worried he'll make a huge show with her, and she'll be forced to disappear.
By appeasing this guy I might help her buy some reprieve.

On the other hand, I know nothing about them so I'm just guessing.

Thoughts?

"Hey bro, I don't know who you are or if you are who you say you are. I'm just meeting up with Casey for a coffee. I'd rather not talk to other people using her phone when I don't know them."

That's all you've got to say. Then after that don't respond to anything else he sends.

After that proceed with the date as per normal. Send her a text on a small detail before the date ("Hey Casey, let's meet at Mainline Station Exit C1") and just assume whatever is going on between her and this dude (could just be some male roommate who wants to bang her or whom she's let bang once or twice and now he wants to date her but she doesn't want that) is something she will handle.

EDIT: alternately: "Hey Casey, looks like your roommate's using your phone? Anyway text me when you're back."

What if the boyfriend pretends to be her before the date and meets up with him instead ? What then?

Some girls love drama and love to see it no matter what.

Just a thought, I don't put it pass women.

And if it isn't a boyfriend, why does he have her phone? Girls are very clingy to their phone. So it could be her boyfriend.

Thank you Chase, great stuff, absolutely loved it.

Unluckily I got late to it and for now I let it go unanswered.
Would you send a message addressing it to her at this point?
Something like "hey, looks like someone was using your phone, anyway, I hope all good at work and happy new year :)".

Damn, I hadn't even thought about that!
Well, suppose it's going to be a beer between bros then or Lux might have his first street-fight depending on that guy's temperament :D .

It makes sense to think that the two might be somewhat close indeed if he had access to her phone.

Anyway, I'll keep you updated guys.
It's definitely not the first time I got a reply from a boyfriend , but it's the first time it happened when things were soundly progressing forward.

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake
