Seducing less attractive / lower quality girls for practice?

This has been long standing advice by many pick up gurus and I’d say over 50% of guys giving advice would agree with doing it, at least during the peak era of pua popularity.

I feel like there are some pros and some major cons to doing this. I did it when I first started, but I didn’t get into this and work on myself to settle.

That said, I’m curious if anyone here does this or what their experiences or thoughts on doing this are?

It can be assumed if someone does this, it is by necessity, or to increase quantity at the cost of quality. Main factors being whether you genuinely enjoy doing it and if you regret it or not.

For me personally, the process of seducing a girl when I lower my standards is not really interesting or thrilling because I am not invested and don’t care, but that can be good practice for beginners to pursue a girl without being too outcome dependent. I also don’t enjoy the sex, so that doesn’t last long. Then, I believe I would regret it if I were to resort to this now.

Depending on how much I lower I standards, I could prefer just not having sex as much versus laying a sub par girl.

You definitely do get more practice, but hotter girls respond differently, and I think a potential con is conditioning your mind and self image to believe that you cant get quality and quantity, or that you can’t get quality at all, in some cases.

Most natural guys also do this, they do get hotties and they date the hotties and sometimes bang unattractive women or FB them, and I’ve known a few very skilled pick up artists who did this too, but I think these cases are attributed more to very high sex drive than a conscious decision to lower standards.

As someone who doesn't really get extremely attractive girls right now, I am generally fine with sleeping with less attractive girls as long as they arouse me sexually, and I feel I want to sleep with them. I think only once I felt a bit bad after sleeping with a girl, because although she did excite me, her body looked way worse than I even expected before she took her clothes off.

This is probably connected to the fact that I don't have abundance yet, and got me thinking that this is what I can get, making me feel bad. So I would say it makes sense to not lower your standards too much, at least until you know you can get hotter women too.

One issue I personally have is when I am in an environment with many women and in the end it happens that the one into me is one of those I like the least. Even if she excites me a bit in this scenario I generally don't go for a close. It simply feels bad to me to go and sleep with the only girl left available when I know I would have preferred ten others more.

Probably I am more of a go and get what you want guy myself, meaning I value more sleeping with a girl I chose to approach and make the moves on, compared to one that is making it easy and obvious. So the ones in the first category even when they are not that attractive I somehow see them as more valuable, compared to the ones in the second.

The whole idea of comparing girls on a decimal rating system is pointless. Either you want to bang her or you don't, and there can be a whole range of different qualities that are attractive for different reasons. For example if she is quite cute but extra religious and likes me a lot, I will not have a strong drive to sleep with her, but if she is a bit less cute and more sexual and flirting with everyone I will have a bigger drive to sleep with her.

Yeah you are more or less on point. For me sex is so natural and integral in the connection between a man and a woman that I can't comprehend waiting too long, it feels like we are prioritising different things.

I also feel that people truly open up and get to know each other only after sex. So for me the more we don't have it, the more I feel it's all about playing games and acting things out from both sides, while after sex you can have the real comfort building and getting to know each other.

Then if a girl is very attractive but of the type that wants a relationship and would like to meet few times before sleeping together, I would probably not even have enough patience. I would prioritise meeting a less attractive but still cute girl that felt more DTF than her.
