Skincare has been very important to me over the years and it has been hard to find the right products that work well with my skin. I have very oily skin, and I have done almost everything to change this and it has not worked (diet, no more soda, healthier lifestyle). The main reason I started eating healthier and becoming more health conscious in general was because of getting pimples, it made me very conscious. I know these changes work for some people but it didn't work for me. However, I follow a pretty simple skincare routine now and it keeps my face looking good (I still can pass for a college student) although I still occasionally get pimples.
For a guy, all you really need is a cleanser and a moisturizer. Some people switch products for different times of the year due to weather but I use the same products all year round. For a cleanser, I use St. Ives green tea scrub (

Moisturizer's can be a little more tricky. It took me a while to find a moisturizer that worked with my skin, I honestly almost gave up hope. Most made my skin feel heavy and didn't absorb well, leaving me with more grease/oily. But now I use Aveeno Clear Complex Daily Moisturizer (

Daily routine:
Morning/Night: wash face with scrub then wait 5 mins and apply moisturizer.
When I get home from work: wash face with warm water, then re-apply moisturizer. (this is because my face is oily).
To figure out your skin type, wash your face regularly and then use oil blotters or something else that can absorb oil after about 5-6 hours. You can also go outside if it's sunny and use a mirror or something. Direct sunlight helps to spot oil on your face quick. If you have a decent amount of oil, then you have oily skin. Most guys don't have oily skin though, it's more common with women.
