The other night I went to a fashion show / networking event. While there was mostly fashion industry people there, there was also people ranging from rappers & artists, to event hosts, and even real estate agents & finance directors there.
And man did I have the time of my life.
Not only did I get to network with all the models there (a few of them I actually really clicked with and I got all of their IG's), but I met a huge rapper who worked with Kanye West who wants to collaborate on music with me. I also met a successful makeup artist / skincare company CEO who wants to promote me as a DJ. I also met a modeling event host who puts on events all over the world (like NY, Paris, Milan etc) and works with literal supermodels who wants me to DJ for his events. All insanely huge opportunities.
However, I'd say the biggest takeaway from this event (aside from the awesome people I met) was simply putting myself out there and approaching everybody. I literally talked to every single person there, got everyone's contacts, and had tons of fun. I was "in state" as RSD would put it, haha.
Another huge takeaway was that, at social events, it's incredibly easy to meet women. It's basically a situation meant for meeting people, and women are more likely to be receptive to you since there's assumed familiarity there (kind of a "warm approach" situation) and it's also super easy to build social proof, especially when you're hobnobbing with models.
And last but not least, events like this are just plain old FUN. It's a ton of fun to meet people from many different walks of life and of course there's music and art so the mood is set, therefore everyone is laid back and social.
It was undeniably a life changing night and opened me up to opportunites I never thought were possible. Just my thoughts anyway.
