OK, so I had an idea today that I'm going to field test, just for my own shits and giggles, but I'd like you guys to either;

Tell me what you think of the idea, or, take it yourself and try field testing it, I'm curious to see the difference in results.

Now I hate night game for many reasons, it just doesn't feel right or comfortable to me, too expected, plays too much into the woman's hands (they're their to be chased, they WANT everyone approaching them) but its an area I want to work on as many of my friends have great and consistent results with fairly to attractive women who just want a casual encounter.

I want to try this:

after pre open at the bar or something

"So, a man walks into a bar and see's this really cute brunette/blonde/redhead sitting there and goes over to say "Hi", the Brunette/Blonde/Redhead says....."

and just pause, maintaining strong eye contact with a slightly playful smile on my face, I think given the right delivery, this could work quite well as it:

Gets her thinking you're going to tell a joke, comes across as quite playful

Is direct without saying explicitly "you're cute!" its implicit but she'll get the subtext.

should build intrigue if delivered well

uses social pressure to respond and "play back" or I'll get blown out, a fairly useful screening tool for the girls who are into me from the offset or the ones intrigued enough to "see where he's going with this".

What do you more experienced guys (especially you night gamers out there) think to this?

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

I have searched and searched YouTube for the clip and can't find it! So if someone can find this, please post it...

If you've seen the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days", McConaughey's approach is exactly how you describe it. Pre-open, then she turns to him and he says simply "Hi" and then the stare-down, which after a couple of seconds she cracks from the social pressure, extending her hand "I'm Andie..."

I thought it was a really smooth, dominant way to approach a girl in a bar/club environment, so I immediately put it in my back pocket and have used it many times. And as to your guess as to what the results might be, you are pretty spot-on: they either lock eyes with you and eventually engage you... or they simply dodge you and walk right past you. Depends on how solid you are in your execution.
