Text or not text few days after meeting

Hey guys, I know this is a very discussed topic, so I don't want to repeat any threads, but anyways I will be quick,

Met this girl like 5 days ago, we kissed, exchanged numbers, so next day I texted her how nice it was to meet her and that we should meet. She replied that we def, should. So now I am away for a week and I am wondering if I should should send her a text like to "keep in touch" or not. I mean the last contact is now 5 days ago, so I guess it's time to remind her I am alive. I will be back like in 3 days and we can only meet in another 5 or 6 due to work, so is it wise to text her now? Or should I wait until I get back in 3 days and text her? She knows I am away, so would she consider that I am chasing her if I text her now? What if the attraction expires after so many days without contact?

This has been asked a few times recently, and the consensus answer is that attraction does not expire unless face-time is running. So no worries. I'd think you want to wait until you're back in town and available. Messaging her now, while you're out of town at work/vacation, lets her (accurately) think that you're thinking about her too much.

As an added note here, it wouldn't hurt to let her know you're going out of town and that you'll plan on getting together with her when you get back. You don't have to plan any logistics, but if you don't say anything about leaving town and then just randomly hit her up a week later, she can either (A) forget who you are altogether, or (B) go into auto-rejection for telling her you wanted to see her and then not following up immediately to set up a meet.

So just send her a simple, "Hey Becca, I'm going out of town for the week, but I'll hit you up next week and we'll see if we can grab that drink together " Then you can hit her up sometime that week and arrange the date.

Franco, the thing here is that she knows I am out for a few days (I left the day after we met and kissed) and in her reply to my text she said like "lets meet when u come back" So my dilemma here is to as you said, she could forget I exist (plus she is really good looking, so I am sure she has tons of guys after her) VS I don't want to be perceived like I am thinking of her all day. Is it worth sending a text to sort of keep our link going? Or as Luego said, is it unnecessary? We are supposed to meet AFTER I come back, so the communication should restart WHEN I am actually there? We can check each other's schedules so she can know where I am lol. Btw I get into this situation ALL the time! I am out of my workplace very often, so I always run into this thing of communicating while I am out or not.

If you already let her know you'll be gone, then wait until you get back to text her. =)
