The illusion of kids completing life!

Although I don't entirely agree with what I've said in this thread, it does explain why I'd rather wait until my 40s to have children! Hello kids, goodbye dreams! Hmmm. "I'll now get to act like I'll always have something more important to do"!

Rather than mustering up the courage and will power to tackle the things you know you're avoiding, you now have a kid to look out for. Isn't that the perfect excuse to avoiding self development? The only thing you now feel responsible for, is to hold down your job and to pay the bills! Ironically, doesn't that take a load off your mind?!

You are also given the illusion that you're life is moving forward, that you are now some how more mature, more experienced than your peers (who don't have kids). But really you're just the same old man child you always were. You can kiss goodbye to any extra curricular hopes or activities planned for your life, because you'll look so infantile if you still pursue them.

Do the children bring joy to your life? Of course they do! How else would nature trick you into giving up you're dreams! Beyond a certain age, you'll be told you're immature if you don't have a kid, so why not just grow up and have bloody a kid?

I don't sense that such people irritate him... more so that they make him feel superior. There's a certain amount of truth to the post.
