Twitch Streaming + Live Coaching Broadcast = Free Advice

Hey boys,

I'm a huge gamer. Always have been. I've started a Twitch stream called SlayLikeCasanova where I play video games and talk about bitches and hoes. I'll be covering various topics everyday and will answer questions if you throw them at me.

The games I'm playing recently are:

Pub G and Dota 2.

Within the next month, I'll be going hard in Destiny 2 for PS4, and then when February comes, I'll be going very hard into Dragon Ball Fighterz, hopefully getting good enough to head to EVO 2018 and face the best in the world.

Soon, I'll be doing special days, like Sex Saturdays where we just talk about sex stories and lay reports, and maybe even Blitz Tuesdays where we share a drink on stream and get savage with our commentary.

Haha, definitely not! Paragon was a very brief stint. I've actually gone full circle, lol.

My cycle has gone like this (with games I actually put a good amount of time into):

• 1. SMITE
  2. Paladins (Closed Beta)
  3. Battleborn
  4. Overwatch
  5. Heroes of the Storm
  6. Fortnite
  7. Paladins

...and now I'm playing Paladins. It's improved a shit load since I first played it in Closed Beta, so I think I'm gonna stick with it for now. (EDIT: Also still playing Fortnite; it's a more casual, fun game to play when I want to take a break)

All of the people that I used to play Paladins with when it first came out are now all Top 100/Pro eSports players in the game, lol. I know if those guys were able to hit the top of the ladder, then I can do it for sure. I'm already approaching Masters League and I've only been back into it for a few weeks.

Maybe I should build my new rig so I can start streaming again too...

Paladins looks like an Overwatch rip off, but I suppose everything is a copy of something else these days. Why do you prefer it over Overwatch? Though I heard the drive to make that an E-Sport died out.

You really should try Dota 2. Could use another regular partner and you'd learn quick.

I can't stream Pub G too well with my laptop, so I might have to take it easy on streaming until Cyber Monday and I build a dream rig, but Dota 2 I can stream decently. Also I have some people doing design work to make my Twitch page super pretty, so I might just wait until it's super ready to launch it then go hard. Partnership would be a goal of mine within the next year.

The "FPS MOBA" charge right now is cluttered in general. People are only calling Paladins a "rip-off" because Overwatch is made my Blizzard, therefore anything that Blizzard does is considered the "holy grail." I can't really argue with that logic though -- Blizzard is amazing, lol.

Paladins is certainly its own game, and it's by Hi Rez Studios (who made SMITE), and they've been doing a fantastic job on Paladins following the same development model that they did for SMITE. If you think about it, SMITE is one of the few true "MOBAs" that actually was able to make a name for itself after LoL and DotA saturated the market. So Hi Rez knows what they're doing.

As far as eSports, Paladins already is an eSport, bruh!

I know about 30-40% (EDIT: Actually, more than 50% after looking at the top 25 earners) of the players in those tournaments listed there. Used to play with them back in Closed Beta.

I just can't get into DotA 2. I really hate some of the mechanics of traditional MOBAs, and I've never been a fan of top-down view with single unit clicking. SMITE corrected many of those problems by essentially being a third-person shooter, so that's why I loved it. Heroes of the Storm was better than DotA for me, but I still ended up getting kinda bored with it as well. I still play it from time to time though.

Yeah, you'll definitely want a badass PC if you plan on Twitch streaming. You want to be able to stream with really solid quality while also having the bandwidth to use a webcam if you can. It makes all the difference.

I'll probably be building a new rig in the next year or two, and when I do, I'm going ham on that thing. It's gonna be Twitch-ready by all means!

Paladins, Battleborn, Overwatch, and Fortnite are all shooters. Believe me, I'm still heavy into shooters, even after spending ~8 years playing Counter-Strike back in my "glory" days!
