Most people in the world go through their lives seeking validation. They want people to tell them what theyre doing is right.

I suffer from this a lot.

Im ashamed to say I spend a lot of time looking at myself in the mirror. Sizing myself up to others socially and considering myself better.

Its so sad rly... I'm not better. I'm just an insecure boy.

The internet is the fall of men. The bad outweighs the good.

Being unplugged is one of the most positive things you can do for yourself.

Go buy how to make girls chase and stop paying for internet.

Try it for a week. Just 1.

There's this quite unique level of certainty and self assuredness that you get from looking at the real world and not staring at a screen that can't be explained unless you experience it.

It's like you're on this whole other level tbh. You have this incredible self control and nothing fazes you. Most important of all you stop seeking external validation.

I'm going to drop everything for a month

Slay,

While I don't know you well enough to really comment on the beginning there, I'd just like to say that most everybody seeks validation from others to some degree. It's not a huge deal to be honest.

Internet being the downfall of men? Hmm, I mean it could be. It's also fucking awesome how much information we have literally at our fingertips.
What makes you say the bad outweighs the good?

I'm totally with you that unplugging is awesome though.
I lost my phone for 2-3 weeks two years back, and that was a fucking great time. The first couple days were a rough adjustment with school and all, but back then school took the back burner for a lot of immediacies with me.

You notice things that you wouldn't normally notice. You're forced to entertain yourself, for yourself.
Reflection, observation, socializing, all very basic human things, skyrocket. Overall, shit felt more vivid and real.

My high school psych teacher made me wonder if being "plugged in" gives humans tiny shots of dopamine or some shit..
Tv, phones, computers, screens giving us small gratifications for accomplishing many minor tasks, people getting likes and favorites on social media, etc, maybe it drains and depresses us.

I'm very reliant on my phone & laptop currently though with my job and academic obligations, or else I'd probably do it again. Food for thought.

I hope you don't actually do a total unplug for a month as I enjoy seeing your posts, but if you just did after this one, enjoy man!

Seeing that I can learn pretty much anything that I want, study History, Psychology, Philosophy, Business, Writing, Socialising and basically anything at all in the comfort of my home, I'd say the Internet is pretty fucking awesome.
