As this website righteously warn that "important" people often move slow, here comes the issue with hit:

if you walk too slowly, how are you going to catch up with a girl walking fast(er) without breaking your "slow mover" aura?

You'd come across as super incongruent if after she saw you moving slow you're now hurrying up to catch up to her and much worse than if you were walking normally -or slightly faster-

What I do in this case is to jog in the most silent way I can until I get 2 meters behind her and then take big strides and resume my slow and steady movement when I get in her peripheral vision. I then open her. Yes it looks silly to people around but I don't care.

Why would she see you come? Unless you tried to open her and she kept walking or she randomly glanced back when you were approaching her, I haven't experienced this. And if she's walking towards you, then you can even stand still, make eye contact and open.

Respect, not caring about people around is something I have yet to fully conquer

Well here I totally disagree, she could see you move before you approach for a million of reasons.
And actually, many times it's good if she sees you first.

And if you want the mathematical reason, well, there's only a 50% you see her first (might be higher if you consider women tend to have better peripheral vision). All the other times, she saw you first.

So at least 50% of the times you look incongruent or if you move very slow and then hurry to catch up/say hi. Going from slow to running to catch up you just slotted yourself in the chasing position.

you miss 100% of the shots you don't take

I do the same xD

They may even know you had to run (even if they didn't particularly HEAR YOU coming), but once she's looked at you, you just give her that [impish?] look and things are fun.

No, you don't.

The "chasing position" - the REASON you ran - is in your head. What if you just needed to catch up to FIND OUT if she was somebody interesting to you?

In your theory, a professional sprinter who "totally owns it" has to walk slowly in competition too, just because "it's cooler".

It's more congruent to be a man who does what needs to be done in order to get what he wants. Catch up, THEN slow down.

I disagree.

You change your normal routine only for things which are important enough for you to change it.

You don't run to catch a bus if you don't really need to catch your bus, you run if it's important for you not to miss it.

If opening that girl is not important to you, then why bother starting this topic anyway?

Look, I've been doing value-based game for years and kept wondering why I'd get so many harsh rejections.

If you get your fundamentals straight, girls will actually be flattered that "such a hot guy" made an effort.

I prefer "He must actually like me" over "He's just pinging random girls for seduction".

How's that connected to anything? Noone said I don't care, and I'm not even saying you should walk slow -I only rarely do- I was just wondering how the two things can fit together -because if you haven't noticed this website recommends a slow walk/movement and I DO see the point in that-

BTW, of course walking slow and then running to catch up is NOT a death sentence, nothing is for that matter, but I can't see how it's not incongruent.

If you still don't believe it try, just try, to imagine Paulie moving super slow here and THEN suddenly running around to catch up to someone (amazing scene BTW :) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Y33L80oObQ
