I've always used either jeans or suits, so these "in between" pants are something new to me.

What kind of belt should I wear for:

1. the green pants in the pic.

2. the beige pants in the pic (the one with the size still attached)

Beige Trousers: These can work with either a classic style black or brown belt. However I would personally wear a brown belt with lighter colours. A brown belt will enhance the 'earthy' beige colour and provide a better matching tone which matches the overall style and colour of your bottom half. A black belts I personally find it is too contrasting with the beige trousers.

I would go with something along with these types with a hue similar to the above. Brown belts provide a nice contrast to lighter colours without being too jarring.

Gren Trousers: Slightly trickier. I would pick a black belt if the overall colour is darker e.g fairly dark olive green. However in the picture the colour is again fairly 'light' so again a brown belt (Pictured above) would work too.

I stick to a more clean cut style when it comes to trousers. My exception to go for brightly coloured belts would either be shorts or jeans.

Glad to help,

Trousers:

Fabric belts are interesting. I was going to mention fabric/'hemp' belts but decided against it. Since you brought them up, let's go.

  • I think the brown one can go very nicely with the biege.

As for the green, it would go nicely with both. The yellowish one works nicely as it acts as a highlight.

If possible you can look for ones with alternating colouring but with a darker brown and lighter brown. The solid colour is a definitely a nice and safe choice though.

Those types of fabric belts do work nicely, so your choice of style is great.

These can also be used for jeans, if you use a brightly coloured or multi-coloured belt (Either fabric/plaited) this creates a nice bold statement too.

Shoes:

Shoes on the red box: Are these a pair of glossy trainers? If they are I wouldn't pair them with the trousers you mentioned. If they're glossy 'suit shoes' I would leave them out too, the gloss just creates too much contrast against the more matte and earthy colours. If trainers: Go with jeans. If suit shoes: Suit, professional look

Black more matte shoes: They can pair with both

Biege trainers: Will go nicely with the green trousers. Wouldn't wear them with the biege trousers as they'll just blend in together and look odd. If they were a say a mid brown they could match with biege.

I learnt a few tricks here and there and also I have a few girls that know what looks good on me, also current pro of seeing a S-Korean designer. Thinking of going for a more modern East-Asian now as the outlines seem to compliment my V shape with smallish waist. Also being Asian ethnic, I can. :D

I also recommend looking at Chinese, Korean clothing, some of their current styles are very nice. The more modern styles will compliment a skinnier or V shaped frame if you have one. Just avoid the cotton/wool/fur styles like I do. ;)

If you have any other questions go ahead,

Glitch,

You're amazing, you should have a blog about style!
I seem to notice that Asians, on average, have better style than (northern) Europeans.

Yes, they're (very) glossy trainers, I have also an even nicer pair more on the silver that got me a lot of compliments, might post a pic later

I love the clothes on that mannequin you posted, I'm not Asian but can sport V shaped style for smallish waist :), do you know in what kind of shops similar styles can be found, or where similar ones can be found?

What do you think about the scarf, could it work with the T-shirts in the picture?

L,

I normally look for imported stuff and look for a similar style or get it imported if I can't find it anywhere else.

From time to time I look at some fashion blogs but that's probably the extent of my research. My style normally fits/suits the style like in the jacket above. As for shops I normally have a good look around, not much to it. :p

Shops you really just look around, current T shirts are old gaming tee shirts still in good nick. :) Sometimes I go on Zazzle for funny tee's. It really ranges, for example quite a few of the long sleeved shirts are from GAP or something but look like this:

Note With Designer stuff: The average individual isn't really going to notice. They'll look at the overall style so don't bother with designer unless it's a specific item you want.

For fashion, I think subconsciously I just have good taste? I've never been too fussed as long as it suited me, only really nowadays have I really looked how it fit my frame as I'm becoming more lean than I already have been.

I suppose it was justing seeing girls that are well dressed too? I found hanging around some girls isn't too bad for getting fashion references, when I was really dense I never wondered why they kept on making me try clothes or watch them trying clothes. XD So dumb... I was like alright, it suits you/me. :D

So I think it's a combo of subconscious, seeing girls and hanging out with a few girls?

As for sense of style, I think on average Asians are better dressed compared to British guys at least in here. Especially when comparing cities, when I was in Hong Kong or other major city the males are a lot better dressed. The exception being the higher end of London as it's a fashinon central where it's about equal.

As for the girls, girls I go for put quite a bit of effort in their appearance. Unless we're doing physical but even then they still manage to look hot. Most cute/hot girls will put a good effort into their appearance so not much can go wrong there.

A good sense of style can put man into many girls crosshairs as I found that the 'gap' between how stylish men and the average joe compares is pretty big in most countries. With girls there's not so much a disparity as the average girl has a decent sense of fashion.

I have some glossy trainers, gloss adidas originals but they're used for jeans and some shorts. For trousers other than jeans I go for a more matte look, just personal preference I don't really have a reference for pairing up glossy shoes when it comes to the trousers we're on about.

Good stuff that you worked for that V, for V shaped frames now that I'm looking more into it I find it very hard to fit an athletic body. For jeans it's the quads and shirts or tees it's armpit area. Nightmare, so really have to look around. In the UK only more recently have athletic builds been more tailored, the slim-fit stuff doesn't 100% work.

I guess for East Asian styling that sort of frame has been recognised as most of the more muscular male models have a more pronounced V shape.

Any more questions just shoot them, currently just slaving away to finish my last exam for the year.

If anyone else has questions about fashion be sure to help them out as you've got good taste too L,

L,

Forgot about the scarf, looks like a summer scarf. Will go nicely with the shirts and can be pulled off with the tees. I'd prefer a white/off white scarf for the pink tee but the scarf will work for both.

I agree with almost everything you say except for the designer clothes.

I do have a few designer one and I could see the difference in compliments received -and myself feeling better in them, Versace jeans are so soft they feel like a swetsuit-
