What happened to "negging"?

You never hear about negging anymore.

Was negging discredited?

Was negging rolled into more moderate/general ideas like simply not seeking the approval of women, or push-pull?

one time I was picking up this women that I had cold approached and she started negging me, so I called her out on it like "wow I'm impressed with how good you are at back handed compliments". She started apologizing saying "sorry I was negging you". So I played stupid and was like "negging? isn't that some weird pick up artist thing? what exactly are you trying to do here?". Any way, we had a lot of fun that night, the two of us!
