I got on the bus. A girl looked at me. No one else was on the bus.
Me: Hi
Girl: Hi, how are you?
Me: Good
Girl: I'm good
Me: You just got off work?

Girl suddenly pressed the stop button, came to the bus driver (I couldn't hear so below is the approximate conversation)
Girl: This is not the bus XX
Driver: This is the bus YY
Girl: Why don't you say earlier?
Driver: It's on the sign
Girl: Drop me now

Bus stopped. Girl went down.
Girl: Thank you driver
Bus continued.

Driver (talked to me): Man, she should have seen it. It's clearly on the sign.
I responded: Yeah, you're right

What could be the better response? I thought of a few things:
A: "Yeah, you're right"
My response. Minimal effort. But it sounded a bit beta, like I was just agreeing because he was the staff.
B: "Hey, it's just people"
I liked this response better because it looked cool

P.S. My objective is to make friends and get girls on the bus. I took this bus often so long term consideration is necessary.
P.S.2. My analysis of this situation is that, the driver is more important because I'll be more likely to see him and he will see me once every 2-3 days. On the other hand, I find out that if I interacted with a girl it was more likely that I'd meet her again next month, so as long as I don't antagonize her I usually will have second chance, third chance, and even better because I have repeat exposure.
