So I met this barista in a coffee shop I frequent. We never conversed before outside of me paying the bill but things started to change 2 weeks ago. She started making small talks, bringing me my favorite drink without me having to order. Once she came up to me amidst the coffee shop full of people asking if I had a phone charger, later I checked out her phone and it isn't even from the same brand lol. So I figured she might be interested, might as well go find out. Last night when I came in the shop was full so she placed a stool for me to sit next to her in the bar. We did some light banter, asking about her day job and stuff, I tried not to go to deep to save things for the actual date and just focused on reading my book. Before I left I decided to ask her out. She refused at first but then said we might sometimes. Thing is, when I asked for her contact, she refused to give her number and just offered FB instead. I didn't settle, tried to keep my calm and keep persisting a few more times, but she said she made some sort of promise not to give out numbers to strangers. Right then a customer ordered a drink so she went to make it, I tried one last time before deciding that keep standing there wouldn't look too good, so I packed up and left. She might be playing hard to get but it could also be that my read had gone horribly wrong, either case I'm very confused.
What's you guys' take on this? What can I do next? Is it over?
