What's one thing you do that lets you hook girls in a lot more easily?

I think it'd be fun to have some posts for the forum where guys pitch in with individual strategies.

One of the most consistent issues I hear from coaching clients and guys in Girls Chase article comments and here on Skilled Seducer is the "hooking girls in" problem. It goes something like this:

"I can approach girls fine, and I do fine with girls when it hooks. But a lot of the time it doesn't hook and I don't know what to do to make girls hook."

What's been your personal biggest hook point breakthrough?


BIGGEST HOOK POINT BREAKTHROUGH FOR ME (TOPIC CYCLING)

The biggest breakthrough for me in getting girls to hook better was learning to basically keep jumping between topics/material until a girl hooks.

For example, old way (what I did when new / what I see a lot of guys doing):

[APPROACH]
ME: Wow, I love that hat. You have a really artistic style, it's cool. I'm Chase.
HER: I'm Gabrielle.
ME: Gabrielle, nice to meet you. So are you out on a mission today, is that why you're dressed so nice?
HER: No, just taking a walk. [SHE DOESN'T HOOK]
ME: I see. [thinking... thinking...] So where you walking to? [same topic]
HER: Just the park. Just that way. [NOT HOOKED]
ME: That one down there? XYZ park?
HER: Yep. That's the one. [NOT HOOKED]
ME: Ah yeah, that's a nice park. A lot of green space. The mini-lake is really beautiful.
HER: It is. [NOT HOOKED]

I call this "getting hung up on topics" where you just keep talking about the same boring topic that is failing to hook her.

Unfortunately, since the topic bores her, and you keep talking about the topic that is boring to her, that makes YOU seem boring, and then you're doomed.

Learning to cycle through material changed the hook game for me though:

[APPROACH]
ME: Wow, I love that hat. You have a really artistic style, it's cool. I'm Chase.
HER: I'm Gabrielle.
ME: Gabrielle, nice to meet you. So are you out on a mission today, is that why you're dressed so nice?
HER: No, just taking a walk. [SHE DOESN'T HOOK]
ME: This city is so walkable. It's one of the reasons I moved here! You seem like you're a transplant too.
HER: I'm from ABC city. [SHE DOESN'T HOOK]
ME: I thought so. I don't know how long you've been here but you seem pretty outgoing so I bet you've got a huge friend group established.
HER: [laugh] Four years. And I'm not that outgoing. I just have a couple of friends. [SEMI-HOOKED]
ME: See, but that's pretty good. Some people by four years are still sitting at home by themselves with their cats.
HER: [laugh] I actually have a cat. [SEMI-HOOKED]
ME: Cat and friends, you sound like a juggler! Let's move over a few feet so we don't get run over.
HER: [laugh] Sure. [SEMI-HOOKED]
ME: All right, so you've got friends, just a few, you been here four years; what do you do for fun?
HER: It sounds kind of stupid but I blah blah blah [TALKING ABOUT HERSELF; FAIRLY HOOKED]

(this is similar to the "opener cycling" technique)

So what we do here:

1. She doesn't hook instantly (e.g., start pelting you with questions on the open)
2. She doesn't hook on the "what is her mission for today" topic, so you DROP IT and switch to something else
3. She doesn't hook on the "city is walkable" OR "you're a transplant" topics so you DROP THOSE and switch to something else
4. She SEMI-HOOKS on the "friend group" topic, laughing and sharing details, so you expand on that by continuing to comment on it
5. She SEMI-HOOKS on the expansion, laughing and self-deprecating about the cat, so you QUALIFY her then MOVE HER then REPEAT the stuff she just told you (reinforcing that you 'get her') then ask what she does for fun
6. Now she starts talking and is reasonably invested and hooked

We quickly drop topics and keep moving, looking for something she hooks on.

Different girls have different buttons you can push that they will engage with.

The topics themselves aren't always important; sometimes it's just about getting her talking to you long enough that she takes a shine to your attractive qualities. But in any event by keeping the conversation fresh and not getting hung up on topics she doesn't connect with, you avoid running into that awkward conversation dead zone guys slip into when they keep asking about the same uninteresting thing.

Of course, there are other things that lead to breakthroughs: better fundamentals, bringing your look/vibe more inline with specific types of girls, etc. I talk about some of these in my article on hook points (we have others in the hook point section of the website).


WHAT'S CHANGED THE GAME THE MOST FOR YOU IN GETTING GIRLS TO HOOK MORE EASILY?
