Recently got new neighbours, as part of the unit/duplex type of house I'm in.
They have loud cars and idle them or work on them alot, Also some loud music with bass sometimes. But its not 24/7. Not always during the daytime though...think it was 1am the other night... loud rev during the 30mins idle. One of their car alarms went off. A different car alarm went off another night when they were doing whatever with their cars outside late at night too.
I recently opened garage door to go out in the afternoon and I talked to them because they were woking on one of their cars. I had problems with my rent going through so asked if they experienced similar. Talked about that for a bit. Then they said something like "Can you get out bro?" ie, their car, that they were working on with tools, was taking up half the driveway so I think they were implying do they need to move the car so I can go wherever I need to go. I said nah should be okay or something, and half on the grass got out. But since they offered that, thats what makes me think I might be overreacting, ie its not personal.
Even knowing that... I still feel uncomfortable. Not because noise is annoying from the cars, but its unusual behaviour. I'm hypersensitive I think.
At the same time, is this maybe antisocial behaviour? Once one of the cars start, drives around then comes back 3 or 4 times in a few hours. Its very... unusual. Inside the house maybe a bit more noise, like light banging into walls or something, opening and closing doors or something. Old neighbours didn't do this if I remember correctly.
The other way to look at it, is if these guys are unusual, and no threat personally, and on my side, maybe they could be an asset? Like if they're there, less chance of getting someone breaking in if they're literally out the front. But if they don't own the cars, or do drug drops[the coming and going constantly], then what?
The previous tenants were not like this. If this is not just a holiday coincidence(ie if this continues because they don't have a normal job or whatever), should I move house?
