Met a super hot girl from day game yesterday. She was very receptive. A flight attendant who lives in Qatar, back for a week just to visit family. I number closed her, and we instantly started hitting it off.
But I think I screwed up the texting, and now she's gone cold on me.
Here's the full conversation with timestamps (this was Friday):
No response from her (half a day later).
The drunk booty call was a delicate situation, and I think I handled it well by asking if she got home okay. Where I think I messed up is with the intended pun joke on her name which I think didn't come off the way I intended it - "true I bet summer there is hot enough already ;')"
I hummed and harred about this one before sending it. When I came up with it, I thought it would be ambiguous enough to not come off as weird. Of course, I forgot one of the key things Hector talks about in his texting guide, which is that you never know in what state of mind the girl is when she READS your message, thus you should avoid risky jokes that can be misinterpreted. I should have just gone with something short and safe like "Good point" and ended the thread.
Instead, I sensed immediately from her lack of response that it wasn't good, so I made things worse with my damage-control reaction about 500 Days of Summer (I'd mentioned during our interaction that her name reminded me of a movie, but I couldn't think of it). It probably came off as a little creepy as, again, I can't control how she interpreted the message. If I was going to bring it up, I should have saved it for in-person.
Then her delayed response "Really I kinda like Inception tho lol" - is intentionally creating dissimilarity. This feels like something girls do when they're losing interest and trying to back out.
So yeah, I'm expecting her to flake now.
Aside from the badly-calibrated joke though, is my texting here way overboard? Usually I keep texting strictly to logistics, but she was texting me very quickly, so I thought I needed to match the investment level. She definitely wanted to meet up the same night. My thinking was that, since she wasn't free till Monday (and it was Friday), there was a good chance she was going to flake if I kept texting too minimal. Hence I decided to bend the rules a little. I think I should have dialed it back though, and especially not taken the risk with a stupid joke.
@Skills can I ask your opinion?
