Been meaning to read Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman for a while. What really made me move my ass and hit the library was the following from Wikipedia:

Feynman has been criticized for a chapter in the book entitled "You Just Ask Them?", where he describes how he learned to seduce women at a bar he went to in mid-1946.

If I have learned anything since diving into pickup is that if anything is "controversial" in the mainstream it is most likely worth checking out

The key nugget I took away from it tho, is what the master tells Feynman before advising him to ask girls first if they'll sleep with him (a very explicit low percentage way of screening for DTF lol), before investing in them (spending money on them):

The whole principle is this: The guy wants to be a gentleman. He doesn’t want to be thought of as impolite, crude, or especially a cheapskate. As long as the girl knows the guy’s motives so well, it’s easy to steer him in the direction she wants him to go.

Thoughts

I feel in this there is a level of secret society being high lighted. I think back when this book was created, *(Not sure of the original thing) a topic that was shoe horned into every auto biography seemed to have a part about, "Women arn't what you really think!" section. You read that chapter and then try to differentiate it from other writings of the same time and you'd come to the same conclusion.

When I go to bars I drink a particular drink depending and most people recognize me more on my order then they do by my reputation. Quite often i can sit down at the establishments but I do try to be more unknown then known. If you asked most bartenders my name they wouldn't be able to answer that question. *(One of the things I'm super curious about post Covid 19 is if the same bar staff will still be around. I've always enjoyed the social proof) *(Which related to that other thread about bars if you have a unique drink you become known for)

I remember a post from Sedfast by Daigoro; it was along the lines of something.......F*ck, I'm an old man at this point and forgot what he wrote.

So I could never understand why Tamara always spent the time introducing me to these nice girls, and then, even though things would start out all right, I would end up buying drinks, spending the evening talking, but that was it.

I'm not sure about anybody else but I think this is something alot of people have trouble with. I know I do, *(And will definitely have happen after Covid) is moving from meet to lay. I can atleast say to myself that when I do get blown out I *(At minimum) garnered an actual animalistic reaction. Something that goes to the person that says, "Oh shit this guy isn't a simp! He isn't just some stupid face who is going to pay for my drinks! AND HE HAS THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT HE WANTS HIS DICK SUCKED! Is he nuts!"

I am really really curious about this going direct and just asking "If you will sleep with me tonight" as a pull tactic. Seems crass but I sort of love how KISS method that actually is.

Anyways that is my thoughts.
