So I recently took up MMA on some days and started sparring, did get into a match for the fun of it and the guy I was going against landed a couple jabs and clean left hook which led to my eye getting some swelling. Luckily I got it all treated but it is still there, just looks like I got into a fight.

Get back to my apartment and run into my neighbor, gorgeous brunette with a ponytail, who makes eye contact and immediately approaches me. Asks me what happens and then starts touching it saying what I have been doing with my life. Later asks "are you doing sketchy shit and got caught? I mean what the fuck dude, really?". We vaguely know each other and have made small talk a few times.

Walk into work and the secretary, sexy brunette from Florida, looks at me and will not leave me alone. Starts touching it and asks me endless questions.

Then at work, a couple of coworkers make a huge deal out of it asking what in the world happened and make the conversation about it. The guys care a bit but women really cared.

So I go to the gym and there are girls I see there regularly, eye contact and a smile is all I do before getting to a workout usually. I get there and immediately, one girl I see who is this short dark haired pale girl from Australia with a cute face and nice butt makes eye contact. Immediately she shouts saying what in the hell happened to me in an Australian accent the whole gym could hear....

This is some interesting shit....

Right on. Interesting note here. Ya having a black eye is usually a good sign you're a red blooded male these days with some testosterone.

Use it to your advantage ;)

I remember hearing about this way back in the day. Guys talking about how having a black eye suddenly made all these women fall all over themselves for them.

I got into this big fight in college and came out with a couple of black eyes. No women ever said anything or noticed.

Man, I was so disappointed back then...!

But yeah, it does make very good sense from an attractiveness standpoint. Attraction typically goes up for anything that shows you have encountered conflict and survived. It's why men with facial scars are actually more attractive to women than women without.

The other one along these lines was going out with a hickey. There was an old Mystery Method video where Mystery shows off a hickey some girl gave him and talked about how going out to the club with it he was having all these girls become fascinated by it and ask him who gave him that hickey and ask a bunch of questions about it. Little combination of injury + preselection there, I suppose.

I didn't get into a fight, but years ago had some makeup type stuff that I'd put on wrong or left on for too long and looked like bruising. Some people seemed to stare a little, men or women.... well it was years ago.

If you are not much of a fighter/tough guy, would it be incongruent to have scars or makeup to look like this?

My observation is that scars and bruises amplify. It does not mean it is +50 to attraction, more like +50%.
So logically speaking, if your base attractiveness is 10, then it has totally different effect than when it is 90 (numbers are just made up)

the right date makes getting her back home a piece of cake

They just love the fighting type :) and they've got the excuse to talk to you (asking what happened)

I have about 5~ scars on my face. 1 noticeable that gets asked about sometimes. Never thought about it's effect on attraction. Go figure.
