I've been struggling with a lot of personal productivity, goal, purpose related issues this year. One of which "Life purpose." I've been working with Chase on. He has a great philosophy that you should find tasks or goals that give you the emotions you enjoy. Most of us "coach" types intrinsically love helping and teaching people, so naturally, we gravitate towards creating work that does this: writing, videos, teaching, etc. But you must choose large goals. For example, Elon Musk's ultimate goal is to populate the cosmos with humanity, thus ensuring our survival. Not to create electric cars. That's a smaller goal that leads to his grand goals.

Where I've struggled is I choose smaller goals, and when I lose interest, I drift for weeks, months, even years, not really working all that hard, but just drifting in limbo.

So, with this question in mind, I spent this week researching and creating this article: The Heroic Guide to becoming a successful man.

I could share it all here, but it's 4k words long, and has all sorts of nifty artwork. The only I haven't included yet are internal links.

So the tldr, is this is for creative men, who feel unhappy unless they're creating. Or for the man who feels he's not achieving the sort of life he feels he could. It's a guide that I hope can help you, if that's where you're at.

I hope it stimulates conversations. And if you find typos, or intellectual errors, please let me know.

This video about self-discipline ties in a bit with your post Tony:

It is pretty basic stuff, but its a good reminder of the significance self-discipline plays in transforming those small goals into bigger achievements.

Great article really resonates with me. The average comfortable life just sounds so dreadfully boring. Relentlessly pursuing some unique dreams of groundbreaking contribution to the world or society or something of the sort is the spice that gives life its flavor.

"The Average Comfortable Life" what does that mean? I lived that so called life there was absolutely nothing average or comfortable about it. You want a challenge in life raise a child to be a good person it is the toughest job you will ever love. There is nothing boring about it, as it is non stop change throughout your lifetime.

I was married for 35 years seduced the same woman well over 1000 times it was never the same twice with no side pieces. Boring hell no as I am a creative SOB. Doing the same thing over and over again I call copy and pasting, will cause you to be boring as you cannot adapt and overcome so you run to the next. Expecting it to be different then finding out it is not this is the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result.

Challenge yourself to do the impossible with nothing I have done this many times in my life. Now my challenge is as a divorced Bad Boy I can do what I want when I want the possibilities are endless. I shall pursue as many as I can until death.

Cheers to having a good life gentlemen.
