I completely agree for women you're gaming, but do you include long-term girl friends in that statement?
I can't imagine being with a partner that I can't even discuss politics with. I'd want them to at least know my general stance and accept my overall way of thinking, even if we don't necessarily agree in every detail. Never had a problem with that in previous LTRs.
I find it astonishing how many people nowadays seem to be in favor of prohibiting political parties, canceling elections, and even sometimes seem to be silently condoning political violence... all in the name of democracy! With justifications like "Because if we don't do it then the dictators will win"
Lately I've gotten heavily invested in current US politics.
After 27 years on this Earth, living a life devoid of financial responsibility, for the first time I am financially forced to hold down a job so I can pay my rent.
If I can't make my rent money by May, I'll be homeless. I've checked out different lines of work, and came out of them angry and disgusted at how much employers want to take advantage of their workers, paying dogshit wages and begging for overtime. It just angers me. We are not people to these greedy sons of bitches.
It is not difficult to understand why many might seek change. Now more than ever the people feel the weight of the decisions from those in power. As civil unrest grows... so does the chance of a revolution. Only coordinated violent measures would truly change things. I would gladly participate as I believe the cause to be just, I have never been politically invested before this time around.
So even if you likely cannot control the future outcomes of our society, taking the time to understand how the world works and how that affects you, is something a man should be knowledgeable about imo.
When I have women I am in a relationship with venting about political positions I don't agree with, my default response is always, "Do you actually want to have a conversation about this or did you just want to vent?"
Most of the people I see talking about not making ends meet/starving/etc. on social media posts are morbidly overweight
I not sure what you're referring to there but I'm certain that - percentage wise - there's more American elites (and polarisation of wealth) than European Elites. I assume you noticed how Bezos, Zuckerberg, etc, were seated in front of prominent politicians at the Trump inauguration. In the U.S the top 1% now own as much as the bottom 50%. It's not that extreme anywhere else in the west. And it's only getting worse. The words "health care" weren't mentioned once in Trump's inaugurational speech.I hear you bro, the European elites are glitching heavily right now. It's kinda funny to watch (hella bizarre too).
i'm from europe mate. don’t get your knickers in a twistI not sure what you're referring to there but I'm certain that - percentage wise - there's more American elites (and polarisation of wealth) than European Elites. Sudden crisis (going from "someone else pays all my bills" to "suddenly I have to pay my bills, but can't, and might be homeless") will screw you up. Survivors narrow their focus on what they need to do to get themselves out of that position. Non-survivors collapse into helplessness, blaming external circumstances, and get rolled by life.
Focus on figuring out your own survival right now. That's where victory lies. Not in fretting over things out of your control that probably aren't going to really pop off for 10-20 more years or longer.
Thanks Chase, I am working on it, victim mentality not gonna help me any.
Appreciate it. Will do. Already been searching desperately for work. I love that article you recommended I even bookmarked it once, looks like I need to re-read it.
I'll twist my knickers however I want.i'm from europe mate. don’t get your knickers in a twist
first, i love europe-- it's diversity of wonder. second i know exactly what you're talking about. i am from and live in america, so there's that and second i am in minnesota, so there is that. it's not even the position. i am too big to be flattened into a binary or even a slightly more complex situation. and anyways politics weighs lightly on the whole quality of life thing. money and sex weigh more heavily-- but politics distracts from them-- and not just for us but from people- from women even. i have a theory that is probably true, that political women are the least sexually or even personally fulfilled. And they are rampant.crazier here than ever before. While it used to be easy to ignore the more extreme political views, I am now seeing more and more political content that advocate things starting from prohibiting political parties up to "joking" insinuations of killing a certain very well known president.
While I'm used to ignore mainstream media (my thinking has always been that they are mostly financed by af very few wealthy entitites) and it's easy to block content like that on platforms like Facebook, it's now gone so far that I'm getting political memes even from close and distant relatives. It's getting harder and harder to ignore. Just today I got two separate messages from relatives, independently from each other. I don't want to block these people since they are my family, and just ignoring those messages doesn't seem like an ideal option either.
that's great. get a wage. enjoy it. enjoy work, excel at it and figure out how to acquire assets. whatever types, assets are freedom. no assets are unfreedom, dependence. assets are freedom. and then protect them. this is way beyond where you are now but i use trusts and llcs (american thing) to put my properties into which doesn't completely protect them but makes them both invisible in some sense and more difficult to get at--- friction friction friction. i know this is way ahead of where you're at but i'm showing you the next several steps over the next 5-20 years if you want to be even more free. the specific ways and means are different in different countries. don't let assets make you think you are winning though if you're not getting love and sex. What's even the point, if you don't have warm and wet love? And i don't even think the two are that correlated. bill gates is not that sexy. but yeah good on you mate!Just wanna give a little update, I finally found employment that I can see myself doing long-term. Not only is the starting wage higher than anything I've ever worked for before(with raises once I gain more skill), but the work environment is perfect. It's just me and another worker, building lightweight carbon fiber boats from scratch, one at a time. My boss is German and truly seems to respect work-life balance, with a focus on quality over rushing things which matches with the kind of person I am, and doesn't object to me blasting Rammstein on the speakers while we work. Building things is quite rewarding, gonna make the best of this.
